it constantly amazes me that some people can proclaim themselves to be politically conservative (although this guy did not) while calling for socialist market controls. sure it annoys me when people get to walmart at opening and clean out their stock of ammo and then offer it up for sale at ridiculous prices, BUT, I could get up early on thursday and drive to town and get in line for "my share".
small mom and pop dealers have usually had higher prices on ammo and guns around here, they probably also pay higher prices for their products due to lower sales volume. should they be held out on some website as gougers"
capitalism is a great thing and works amazingly well, it has been molested enough in this country for it to be hardly recognizable in some markets. the last thing i want is for somebody to tell me what i have to sell a product for. after that the "market police" will tell me what product i can manufacture. i don't care what the reason, the market should determine pricing!
i have heard that it is illegal for a business in an area where a major disaster has hit to sell a generator for "excessive" price. what a fine example of tamping down the american way. a business owner has the foresight to stock up on items that will be in high demand if a storm hits, he has a pile of money invested in stock, if the storm does not hit, he takes it in the shorts. but if the storm does hit, he is not allowed to charge what the market will bear!
although josuas's intent is noble? we do not need more intervention in the market.
if joshua would love to tell us how he purchase 4000 rounds for a good price, why doesn't he? my guess is that this new website will some how make money off of that info, or charge sellers to sell their product. if so, who will come along and tell him how much profit he can make off the seller?
