Redfrog:

Lord, please help me be the man my dog thinks I am.

That is one of my favorite sayings..I saw a pillow once with it on it..and I am sorry to this day that I did not buy it.

Meant to tell you that before and forgot with all of my other babbling. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

They want pictures pappy... show em' what ya got!

isaacdeer.jpg

My great-grandpa back in the early days... killed this deer with that Auto5 Belgium Browning on his toe there. You'd be surpised how many pictures like this are around... Dad, brother and I all carry Brownings and we all have that chester cat grin when we prop em' on our bloody huntin boots.

Figured I post that since you asked for pictures, I'm a real crowd pleaser... Michael Moore would be proud.

Great picture!!!...now please share with me HOW to post one. I tried one night to no avail. Do you have to do it with HTML tags? If so, I must have failed miserably. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

You have to have the picture hosted somewhere on the internet before you can dump it in a forum... I have a site setup full of em' myself. Then you take the address that will find the picture and post it inside the (IMAGE) text box. Not the tag, the URL. It will insert the picture for you. You just have to have it hosted and know the http:\ before you can do it... for instance...

http:\cute-littledogin_traction.ladyjanefanclub.com

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif You know I'm always kiddin' about the dog... but I really wanna see those pictures! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Very Nicely done there JRB,

However, lets take a look at a couple of aspects on the rebutle of my opinion.

ON THE ISSUE OF WAR

I cannot fathom the thought that we are fighting a war on false pretenses, it makes me sick. The United Nations had inspectors in Iraq for months and found nothing. These officials even told Bush themselves that they believed no such weapons of this vast magnitude existed. I am not saying that if in fact Saddam had these weapons he would not try to hide them, I am sure he would. We knew this before the war. That’s why the UN sent their inspectors to conduct surprise inspections of various Iraqi facilities. However, now after the FACT we now know for sure that Iraq (Saddam) PROBABLY did not have or attempt to produce any new post-gulf war weapons of WMD.

I say probably because this is exactly what Mr. Colin Powel said not six months ago!!! No, it’s an intelligence issue now! Bush had bad intelligence that mistakenly went to war. WHAT A CROC!!! Were was this proved/verified info used to make this decision? I ask again??

I have not seen as much finger pointing since the third grade when Johnny pinched Lucy on the ass and blamed it on half the class before finally getting caught after doing it again. Have you ever seen Bush stand up and take ANY blame for the 9/11 events or any for the intelligence that someone gave him. NO, the previous Clinton administration was immediately targeted for not doing enough howerver. It was told by the leaving Clinton administration that the MOST SERIOUS THREAT was Bin Laden and his terrorist network.

What did BUSH do apparently nothing, let me rephrase at least not enough. And that’s not the worst of it. This SMUG grinning AHOLE can’t even apologize to the families of the 9/11 victims. I understand that it would be political suicide but sometimes its not about politics but doing what is right! What have the morals of this country came to?

I saw a Good Morning America show several months ago that featured families who lost loved ones in the 9/11 attacks. Did you happen to see it? They were asked if they though the president or the current administration could have done more to prevent the attacks. Keep in mind this was right after Clarke came out saying all the stuff also. And do you know what they said. basically WE DON’T KNOW. We can’t comment on that we don’t have the info to give a correct response. We hope and would like to think they did, however the all were infuriated that not one apology came from the administration that on ITS WATCH “time in power” somehow something went wrong and our loved ones perished wihout any claim one ounce of responsibility.

Do you know what the said what do you think about Clarke’s claims? Again they said no we don’t have the info to say one way or the other but, the man took personal responsibility saying he directly and those associated with him and in the administration had failed them and he was deeply sorry. At that time they made the comment that this is the only apology they ever received from anyone. And it was at least a good gesture in their words. They themselves wanted more answers pertaining to if the current and previous administrations had done all they could. I don’t know about you but the is pretty damn significant in my book. But we get a commission appointed by Bush to investigate come on!!!!

TAX CUTS

I urge you to research this area closely JRB!! The comment you made sounds exactly the BS Bush was telling us when he was pushing the tax cuts to begin with.

“Big companies get breaks because big companies make jobs, make products and make money for the UNITED STATES. Local guttering companies put money in small town economies but giving them tax breaks doesn’t have the direct and efficient affects the way larger companies do.”

I agree with this statement 100% JRB the trickle down effect will produce to long term job growth. But here is a little info the bush campaign did not tell the American people when pushing it either.

JRB did you know:

The CORPORATE tax rates HAVE NOT CHANGED AS A RESULT OF BUSHS PLAN!

LOOK IT UP!!!!!
irs.gov

So where is the trickle down effect I ask you?

There is none!!!!

Ok one more point to make.

Let me explain one other little interesting point, shall you?

The federal and state governments give a 179 expense election to small self employed farmers, mom pop shops and corporations. The opportunity to expense immediately the purchase of any tangible 1245 property within some limitations rather than depreciate it ratably over its useful life.

Another words rather than depreciating equipment over the applicable lives that you would normally you can write off what use to be $25,000 of the expense directly in the first year!!!

Pretty cool u say HUH!! Well Mr Bush even increased that amount up to 100,000 in 2003! WOW

Well, what was not so evident IS this.

In a tax year that begins in 2003, 2004, or 2005, the maximum annual dollar limitation is reduced “dollar for dollar” (but not below zero) by the excess of the cost of qualified sec 179 property placed in service during the tax year over $400,000.

What does this mean?

Well then let me tell you. Lets say xyz Corporation buys a $500,000 machine. Then the 179-expense deduction is then a big fat $0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This does help the small farmer and mom and pop-shops, but be honest with yourself, how many of these small businesses can afford $100,000 in a single year to begin with? I have seen less than 15% of my clients benefiting. So tell me where is the “trickle down”.

The Job growth and tax cuts were instituted simply for one reason and one reason alone. VOTES! Do U remember where the phrase “NO NEW Taxes” came from? Well I do, George senior. What happened when he got in office. HMMMM new Taxes!!!!!!!!

Bush"s cuts did however benefit extremely wealthy and in a huge way but I will let you look UP that also. Hopefully you will take the initiative to look it up yourself rather than have me give some ACCURATE statistics.

hoWEVER, DON’T LOOK at adds or campaign slogans. Go to the IRS.GOV and look up yourself. Look into the tax cuts and what income levels they affect the most. Specifically the dividend and capital gains rate changes.

Again however, I am sure you will refute with the “TICKLE DOWN” theory. Let me explain something about the trickle down theory. The only thing that trickles down is what the rich want to trickle. And let me tell u its pretty damn insignificant as in relation to the benefits they have been receiving under the current administration's plan.

But one percent of the poplulation that is greatest impacted is not much vote now is it! The rest will be attempted to be swayed by some pretty fancy “hood winking”!!! Eeven the highly intelligent such as your self seem to be swayed. Go figure.

What will happen if Kerry is elected President? Kerry u can bet institute a repeal of Bush’s tax cuts you can bet!

What happens if Bush stays in office? I will tell you these tax reductions start to gradually reverse. Even he knows he cant “pull the wool” but for so long. You will not ever see these cuts remain permanent forever.

It is already written into law!! Look it up its been referred to as the sunset provision in 2010 we will be going back to even higher tax rates than before!!! Pretty convenient don’t you think! NOTE: that would be after Bush's second term which woulb end in 2008!! Coiccidence I think not!!!

JRB I agree with you on some things. That people in a sense should pull their own weight that our major medical programs are in desperate need of help. But social services such as roads, police, fire, etc do not get funded with out taxes. If you cut taxes the quality of these services begin to decline. And its happening everywhere!! Just look around you.

YOU ARE EXCATLY RIGHT WHEN U SAID, and I quote

“Low interest rates aren’t necessarily the stimulus as much as they are a symptom of a sluggish economy. Alan Greenspan is an economical genius, nobody can dispute that too much.”

HOWEVER YOU ARE INCORRECT ABOUT THIS

“The economy is growing faster than it has in over 20 years, interest rates are on the rise to keep up with inflation and jobs are growing some months larger than they have in 4-6 years.”

This again sounds like a BUSH campaign slogan!! It is very easy to get caught up in all those statistics and think they really mean more than what the person is trying to lead you to believe. The economy is indeed somewhat better than it was but it is not because of Bush’s programs but because it follows the general theory of economics.

“After ever high swing there will be a low, and Vice Versa every low there will be a high” UNLESS inflation eats into stimulus growth!!!
Guess what’s already happening! Keep watch on the market. First up and then down there is no consistency. I predict that the markets will once again fall even if Bush is not reelected. It is too little too late now to fight the grueling effects of inflation. It is gonna be a long hard road for any to combat at this point.

The election will be interesting. FOR SURE I don’t suppose however, it will stay close to the end. When Bush and Kerry stand at podiums I am sure that George W will event some new words and try to smoke Kerry out!!! HA He may blow him up with all that hot air!!! I think you will see just the opposite of what you expect JRB. TIME will tell. Bush has to be worst public speaker we have ever had or at least I have ever heard speak!!. The president of the US is all about appearance and prestige. If he looks like a bumbling idiot so do we to others!! Thank god most foreign countries cant hear him at one of his speeches they would laugh him off his podium

“We just don’t elect legislators to presidency.” How long will it take to prove that true again? HMMM is that right, take a look at the current Electoral College system!!! Kind, of messed up don’t u think. And people wonder why people say there votes don’t count!!!!

JRB it is very nice to debate with you on these issues!! Maybe we should run!! Ha Ha

The Patient Advocacy Program is a program where the drug companies ship the drug to the patient..

The requirements are different for each company but it does require you to be of "lower income"..

I say lower as for some companies it is as high as 30,000 a year or less. Some it is 10,000 a year or less..

It requires a patient to see a doctor and to get a prescription for the drug in question.. You then fill out the application and send it to the drug company..

It requires a DEA drug number from the doctor which means that not just anybody can do it as most doctors will not give out that number to save their life..

The drug company goes over the app. and either approves you or denies you..

If you are approved they will ship the drug sometimes directly to you but sometimes it is shipped to your doctor..

These drug companies spend billions of dollars a year doing this and it is made up in the cost of the prices they charge for the ones that can afford the drug..

For some this might piss them off that they are paying more for the drug, but I look at it like this. I'd rather pay more for my medicines so the drug companies can do this as it saves Texas some money in the long run..

It is not much but this day and age every dime counts...

On the otherhand ...If I found out that a person were getting this service by lying about income for instance, I'd take great pleasure in turning that particular person in for it..

Abusing the priveledge costs us all in the end..

A lot of the time each doctor will do this.. In your case you could send for the applications and fill them out yourself. Then take it to your doctor and have them fill in the DEA number and send it in the adressed envelope that you would supply..

For people with no medical background I'd suggest that they let the doctor or someone like my wife do it.. She and I did for while did this as a service and we did charge a small fee for it.. Not much for all we did but enough to cover our costs (of mailing and shipping) for the service for a year...

Ask your doctor as they will know who is doing it in your particular area..

I also understand about the mess that the healthcare system is in.. It is in shambles..

My wife's illness is Lupus so you know what is involved with that because you are a nurse..

I had a job working for Tyson and had a massive heart attack with enzyme levels of over 3000 at 39 years old due to stress from my wife's illness and heat ascossiated with the job (a one in a million rare blood disease didn't help either).. I lost that job because Tyson decided that I was a risk to their self-insurance program.. With it went all the medical benefits of medicines.. Ones that I will never be able to replace. That I am extremely bitter about but it is another story.

We can get by but things are lean around here to say the least.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif .. I have been worse though...

I have recovered fully for no explanation at all. No permanent damage but I did have bypass to go around the stints.. Oh well Chit happens.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif Just thankful to be alive...

I apreciate your last post.. It was a good one..

BTW Houston aint that fer from heyugh! (

James L.

I appreciated your posts as well. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Actually I did know about that advocacy program, but not the name of it. I also knew I was not eligible.
I personally think MANY programs such as that one ARE abused. I once found out someone on my job was purchasing food stamps from alcohol/drug addicts and using them thinking they were onto something big and helping the addict at the same time. I flipped on this person and promised them that if they EVER did it again I would report them. I to this day wonder if I should have simply reported them....but I also do not think such reports are always looked into....I think I put the fear in her big time when I informed her that what she was doing was a federal offense. People like that are clueless...they (and the rest of us) pay for food stamps in the FIRST place...then turn around and pay half of the value thinking they are making out..insane. Then, on top of it, they are enabling people to abuse the system. I also saw instances of people on SSD for reasons I could NEVER understand and then saw people who should be on it go through a three ring circus to get it and some never did. I know you probably do not agree with me, but I just have no faith in programs like that. I think it is admirable that you DO believe in them, because I am sure they help a lot of people. I just have a hard time believing in the checks and balances.

I also STILL have a hard time watching television and seeing commercials for medicines. I once used the Bob Dole one for Viagra as an example. (hahah I got jumped on big time for that one!) There are MANY more of them. If people go to doctors with their medical concerns that should be enough in my opinion. We are a drug seeking country as it is...looking for the magic pill to cure our ills. And...I reiterate: I believe the drug companies come VERY close to crossing the line into practicing medicine without a license. I would bet your wife might think I am correct on that one. Sure..it IS their business to sell these meds...but people are gullible and I will BET the doctors' offices are flooded with requests for medications that they have seen as a magic cure all on television. And...sorry to say it..some doctors are also not as informed as they should be. I know your wife knows THAT to be true.

I once worked with a terrific nurse who had Lupus. She eventually had to retire as the illness really took its toll on her. I hope your wife is doing better without the additional stress of working. Stress is not something she needs for sure. It is a very confusing, often difficult illness to diagnose and makes people very sick and full of pain. She is fortunate to have you there for her. I am sorry to hear how it affected you, but that is testament to your caring for her which is a wonderful thing. Your job probably did not help with that either and it is shameful of them that they did to you what they did because you would think that EAP would see and help in a situation like that. Angers me when things like that happen. You have a right to be angry...but certainly do NOT want to be to the point that it makes you ill. I went through something similar after I was hurt. Oh...I will say my employer treated me VERY well and did everything they could to help me. It was just unfortunate that there really was not much to be done. There was one operation and I still have residuals, BUT I am able to walk now..prior to that I could barely do so. When all was said and done, after two years of he** with medical tests and treatments, I was told I had reached MMI (maximum medical improvement) and could not return to work. That is when the workers' comp. benefits stopped. They DID extend it for 3 weeks until I saw another doctor and to let me prepare for my pension and all. I cried like a baby that day because after all I had been through in those two years there I was without work and was being told nothing could be done to help me. Prior to that I had worked two jobs and I was just NOT prepared to NOT work. Oh...I was lucky to have prepared somewhat financially...BUT I was NOT prepared for the price of medicine. I was in a union, and we had tried for years to negotiate retirement benefits to no avail. And...I surely did NOT expect to retire so early and felt in time that the situation would change where we would have benefits as MOST employees in the state pension plan DID have them. I never really thought that I would go to work one day and have my life turned upside down like it was. My income is too high to qualify for anything BUT too small to pay the huge amount of money for the medications that I take. (AND don't ANYONE say anything about my little dog!!!!) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif He was, and still is, a source of comfort to me. What I paid for him I would pay in two months for medication..hardly enough for the rest of my life!I do have other medical conditions that require meds. At any rate, I buy where I feel that I can afford to. I pay for things I feel are reasonable...I do NOT think that medications are reasonable in this country. That of course is only MY viewpoint. I do NOT expect any handouts from anyone...as I said I have worked all my life. I just think that things are way too lopsided. I look at people like NVWalt and what he said and think of the people I saw who were lazy a$$es and got their medications for NOTHING from Welfare. I DO hope that has changed. I am not there anymore to see it..thank goodness.

As for the hunting....funny....I never knew that the man I live with used to hunt! We were talking about it last night..he was peering over my shoulder as I was talking to some guys in the #predatormasters chat room. We might look into it one day....right now our lives are pretty hectic as we are buying a home and will be moving. Exciting...but hectic. One of the guys is sending me a call..I am SO excited about it! He was telling me that they are not so hard to make..in our new home we will have lots of room in the garage to work on things and I might try it out. I was also telling him about this guy on Ebay who makes and sells crochet hooks. I am AMAZED at the prices he gets....I see them all the time there because I am always looking for new patterns. I use crochet as one of my escapes...I really needed to repattern my life after I could not work. It was devastating for a while as I am sure you and your wife know. I saw people retire and go back to work and could NEVER understand it. I used to joke about it and say that I would LOVE to be retired..HAH...be careful what you ask for!

I go on vacation and everyone goes wild.140 posts,WOW.Im still not sure wether it was M. Moore or prescription drugs.Good job....everyone.

I dont think this is beyond the TOS,but if it is Im sure you will let me know. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Looks mighty disgusting to me...I imagine someone would like it if it was Kerry in the picture. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I think you need another vacation Barry. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Or...you could /ignore as we say on irc. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

hahaha....and SO could *I*

Just for you Ladyjane I deleted it.My intent was not to offend you personally.I forget we have a lady in our presence now.Alyhough,if your concerned with the price of healthcare, you should look to Mexico and the trial lawyers like J. Edwards.

OMG stop ... I am sitting here now laughing OUT LOUD.
Most of my post was tongue in cheek...did you not see the /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif in there?
rofl
AND NO I will NOT be buying medications in Mexico or looking to them for healthcare, thank you! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
You get yours where you please..and I will mine..but I think from here on out I will keep it to myself. Not worth getting people in an uproar over. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif However..I WILL say that most people who tell me to do such weird stuff as sue people needlessly and buy in Mexico have not had the experiences that others have. And I will reiterate AGAIN:
Never judge a man until you have walked a mile in his mocassins.

LJ,what are you doing up this late.Dishes,laundry,the windows?Just joking,really.

but I think from here on out I will keep it to myself
Dont do that.Besides,I know your in denile now anyway.Dont lie to yourself.Time will tell.

However..I WILL say that most people who tell me to do such weird stuff as sue people needlessly and buy in Mexico have not had the experiences that others have.
Its not buying in Mexico that hurts but the 15-million illegals showing up at the hospitals recieving free services[cant turn them away]that does.We pay in the end.

Would you make me an omlet with jalapenos, cheese, onions, green chilies, and bacon? Please.Im hungry. And yes,I need another vacation.

hahaha well I am STILL up....bet you are NOT!!!

Yeah...well about the illegals...it ticks me off beyond belief...and then people want to give them drivers licenses!!!! EEEK

Uhhhh how about you take us both out for omelettes...I love them!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif AND I am also hungry!

Candidates Court Illegal Immigrants Thursday, July 08, 2004 By Matt Hayes

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,124995,00.html

"According to the IRS, in 2001 individuals paying taxes with an ITIN, rather than a Social Security number (i.e. illegal aliens; the only individuals who have a need for or qualify for an ITIN are those without citizenship or lawful permanent residency) paid $305 million in federal income taxes. Calculated against 8 million illegal aliens, that’s a per capita federal tax payment of $38.13, and against 12 million illegal aliens, that’s a per capita federal tax payment of only $25.42. Since neither payment indicates earnings that would allow an individual to survive for one year, we can conclude only that there is persistent, massive tax non-compliance among illegal immigrants.

Why are our elected officials, including our Republican president, competing against one another to legitimize and reward lawbreaking on a scale more massive than anything our country has seen? How can Kerry, who has chosen a populist as his running mate, make election promises that effectively pit low-income Americans against illegal immigrants?

(The answer is that there is an enormous population of illegal immigrants in this country who may be eternally grateful to the political party that gives them legal status, and might show that gratitude by voting for that party when they are eligible to do so.)

African Americans vote overwhelmingly for Democratic candidates, and observers consistently note that America’s lowest wage earners have voted for the Democratic candidate in every recent election. But both are being displaced by an estimated 500,000 illegal immigrants who now enter and remain in the U.S. every year."

(this is me) Why should an illegal pay taxes? Wouldn't that be dum to expose themseleves?

Great catch yesterday in Houston; "33 illegal immigrants discovered in Pasadena"
http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/metropolitan/2668528

It's the "Coyotes" that help make coming here easier for them. What the story didn't say, but was reported, is one of the illegals said they paid as much as $6,000.00 for their trip here.

Quote, "there is an enormous population of illegal immigrants in this country who may be eternally grateful to the political party that gives them legal status, and might show that gratitude by voting for that party when they are eligible to do so."

Damn right! Read this-

"As reported by FAIR Legislative Update 6-14-04.

"Legislation Introduced to Prevent Voting by Illegal Aliens"

Rep. Henry Hyde (R-IL) introduced a bill last week to end voter fraud caused by illegal aliens voting in federal elections. Hyde's "Federal Election Integrity Act," H.R. 4530, would require any individual who desires to register or re-register to vote in an election for federal office to provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
Similar legislation was introduced by Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-GA) in April. Gingrey's bill, the "Voter Citizenship Verification Act," H.R. 4174, has 4 original cosponsors including Reps. Nathan Deal (R-GA), Sam Johnson (R-TX), Walter Jones (R-NC), and Tom Tancredo (R-CO).

Due to a provision in the federal Motor-Voter Act, states that permit illegal aliens to obtain driver's licenses may also be allowing illegal aliens to register to vote at the same time they apply for a license. H.R. 4530 and H.R. 4174 close this loophole.

Urge your representatives to make a commitment to protecting the integrity of the election process by cosponsoring H.R. 4530 and H.R. 4174.

Please help by contacting your Reps to support closing this loop hole.

Thanks."

Post # 4,032 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

That sounds like a good place to start, but I see another possible loophole.

Say a Mexican national comes across and obtains a 1 yr work visa. He then settles in a town and also obtains a 4 yr drivers license. He is all nice and settled and chooses to rough the waters and not go down to his point of entry and renew his visa. Well his dl is still valid and so is his voter registration. So isnt he still entitled to vote?
