I like Dogn's suggestion for Wendover on the weekend of Feb. 31. That sounds good to me.
I also think it would be a good idea to get together for eats before hand. It looks like the bulk of us are scattered from Logan to Utah Co. I should've guessed as much... but that puts a central location probably somewhere in the neighborhood of South Davis Co. or North Salt Lake Co. I'm game for anything, myself. I live in Kaysville, work in Salt Lake, so I've got the restraunt circuit around there down pretty good, which is unfortunately becoming painfully obvious in my physical experience. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
But if you want uncommonly good, down-home, good ol' fashioned, American cuisine, Doug and Emmy's on south Main Street in Layton is pretty hard to beat. Is this too far north for you south Salt Lake county and Utah county guys? I've been trying to think of a comparable place in Bountiful or Salt Lake and I'm coming up empty. Anywho... I figure a Saturday is best for most folks. This Saturday would work for me, I know it's not much notice, but given the frequency we all check into this site, it may be enough. I will be out of town on the 15th, but if you guys want to get something together then, more power to you.
So, here's my suggestion; we meet at Doug and Emmy's Restaurant, 200 S. Main St. Layton, UT (Phone if needed, 801-544-7607.) at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2002. That place is jumpin' on Saturday morning through the noon hour. We'd have a better chance of getting sufficient seating, and minimizing our wait time, if we go in at 1:00 p.m. as oppossed to an earlier time. Whaddaya think?
Just FYI, Doug and Emmy's is in an old train station, white with black trim, at the above address, west side of the street, next door to a gas station and convienience store(either Chevron or Texaco, I can't remember for sure.). For you coming up from the south on I-15, simply take the very first Layton Exit (about 3/4 mile past the Kaysville Exit), this is a north-bound exit only, there is no corresponding south-bound exit. At the end of the exit ramp, turn left at the light, onto Main St. Proceed north on Main up and over the viaduct. As you come off the viaduct, you'll see the restaurant before you and to your left.
For you south-bounders, take the Layton Exit just south of the Layton Hill Mall. Turn right at the light at the end of the ramp, move immediately to your left to get into the turn lane. Turn left onto Main St. Proceed south for probably 1.5 miles, it'll be on you right, not far past the intersection of Gentile Rd. and Main.
Sorry for the length, but I thought if this was going to happen, I needed to get all the info out ASAP.
