Very Nice
What Rifle ?
I need specifics !

Bushmaster Predator 100 yd. off sandbags. Four shots measured .252"; the 5th shot opened group to .345", cutting centerline @ top of square.

My hunting partner and I always shoot each other's rifles so we know the zero. He proceeded to shoot a mirror imageof this group right after I shot above group. His was positioned in top quadrant of the 1" square but shading just right of center line.

This first group (13/16") is my 6x45 with oly sum bbl from d-tech that I built on a keyhole upper w/ dpms free float tube. For 6x45 guys this load is an 80 gr rem bulk psp over 23.25 gr of AA2015 avg 2796 fps. Also tried 25.5 gr of H4895 avg 2853 fps. Next up is H335 and sierra 80 grn btsp.

This is a 20" DTI bbl chamered in 5.56 that I had left over from the 6x45 build that I put on another upper w a yhm freefloat tube. Load is 45 gr sierra over 23 grn of AA2200 bulk. 4 shots under 1/2 " 5th opens to 3/4.

77gr SMK with 24.4 ramshot Tac
Winchester small rifle primers

I'm not a great group shooter, but the stars lined up that day. it was last december when i shot this, but my grendels and 6x45's shoot this well too.

Darn it...none of mine make it so I guess I better quit talkin n get back to the reloading table.
Actually I honest to God had 2 other targets with the 50g V-Max that were better but one of them got lost at "show n tell" and the other one another member here took it home because he shot it. Now for the life of me I have not been able to make it work again...different batch of powder I`m thinking but haven`t tried to start over with the 2 pounds of new A2460 same lot#.
The 60g Sierra with Benchmark was from loads I just started trying last week, so maybe it can be tweaked some.
EDIT-all 5 rounds at 100 yards

Scott, it`s a DPMS Panther Bull 20 (20"SS Bull Barrel 1/9) with a JP Trigger. Burris 4.5-14 x 42 and PEPR Mount.

Hooked,

The print is to small to read but I swear that reads AA2230. How many grains were you using? What bullet and what primers? Those are absolutely amazing groups.

Scott

I finally got out to the range during this past ‘Holiday Break’ as I attempted to make it out the day before; and even drove out there, just to find out that the range was totally packed and crowded to nearly maximum capacity; so I opted to try it again the next day.

I took my Olympic Arms® ML-2 carbine with SUM ‘Broach-Cut’ Bull Barrel and my range goodies (Rug, Pad, and 3-Point Rest) and the mandatory ‘Chamber Flag’ and I shot for nearly an hour total, as we had two ‘cease fire’ calls during my time at the range.

I shot fifty-five rounds of 55gr. Georgia Arms® Canned Heat™ ‘Full Metal Jacket’ and I shot 5 & 10 round groups, at 50-yards, with the DMS-I set on 4X-power.

Top Left 50g VMax, 26.5g Accurate2460, Remington 7 1/2 Primer, Winchester Brass,2.250" COL
Top Right 60g Sierra HP, 24.6g Benchmark, Rem. 7 1/2 Primer, Lake City Brass, 2.250" COL
Bottom 60g Sierra HP, 23.8g Accurate 2230, Rem. 7 1/2 Primer, Winchester Brass, 2.250" COL
thanks for the compliment, ok I suppose for a rookie.
I think the rifle may actually have more potential if it were fired from something more stable than my picnic table and tied down securely, as it is,I have to adjust each shot and just a few thousandths of an inch makes quite a difference at 100yrds. Check out some of the groups shot at a longer distance they look darn good.
Load Data posted for .223 Remington.
If you want to try some and can`t find the data (min/max) send me a PM and I`ll try to find it for you.
