Yep, if you see or catch them in the act, it's bye bye pooch.

Most of our dog problems have been from strays or dumped dogs
that have gone a tad bit feral. When we were having lots of
feral dog problems, everyone in the area was warned and asked to
put a bright orange collar on their dogs so we wouldn't have to
2nd guess before we shot. Most did that for awhile.

But as for the OP's question on the dog running with the coyote.
Don't know, would have to see how they were interacting for
a bit before I could give an honest answer. I'm guessing if
it was social with the coyote, I'd have shot them both. Dogs
that have been running with coyotes tend to be problems and
aggressive.

Wow, I can't belive how much respose to my question.

Just for a little info on stray dogs in my area.

They put down about 15 dogs a day at my county pound.

Coyotes are dogs, that's why they have to be controlled as well.

This is just 2 days worth of cats and dogs put down in the county where I live.

Likely the pound in your area does the same, more or less.

Yep coyotes get blamed for a lot of dogs handy work. A dog that runs with coyotes can develop bad habits??? Probably the other way around
