I am looking for a 3” shotgun.
There are two used camo 835s local; one with 24” barrel, one with 28” barrel and coin in the stock for $250. Used camo 535 with RDS for $325.
Used camo Versamax for $700.
Buy my father’s black Nova for I don’t know how much
Buy new V3 for $700ish
I understand that the X35s, Nova and Versamax are 3.5”. Plan to shoot Winchester 2 ¾” #4 turkey loads ($.35/ea after turkey season at Walmart) for raccoons, and 3” BB to #4 buck for dogs. No deer or turkey hunting currently, and no plans to change. No upland hunting locations here in KY, and have a Miroku A5 for upland in TX, so no low brass unless plinking.
A lot of good things said about the 835s, but it’s mostly regarding the 3.5” shells, and don’t know if the overbore would help for 2¾ and 3” loads.
All guns are within budget, but $700 is as high as I am looking.
Can anyone give suggestions or feedback?
