A lot to answer, so I'm not going to quote anyone, hope you can follow along.
Ridgeline, I don't take handouts, I give them, down at the homeless shelter on Saturdays. It brings a lot of joy to my life to help others.
Onery, What brought me here is kind of a long story. I, like a lot of people was apathetic to what was going on in my country. After 9/11, like a lot of people, I was really drawn to the news. Fox News. I received 8 years of right wing propaganda. 9/11, I was 22? Up until then, I was to busy chasing girls and getting tanked to even ponder what was going on outside of my little bubble.
In 07' election time came. Along with Glenn Beck. I will tell you, it was Beck who cured my apathy. Obama won, I hated the man, but at the same time, I was looking at all of these republicans, Whom I've always voted down party lines for, were not lining up with my beliefs. Who in my eyes, and a bunch others, represented the party, and not the people. I joined the Tea Party and the 9/12 project in my neighborhood. Went to meet and greets. [beeep] I even passed out pamphlets at the King Soopers by my house.
But some things just really bothered me. The gay marriage thing. The abortion thing. I mean I lined up with these people on our fiscal problems, and the damage that Obummer was doing, but... I just felt I was hanging out with a bunch of hypocrites. I mean, how can someone say they want govt. to butt out, but insist that they are involved in the personal relationships of people in their bedrooms? Sounds to me, well, hypocritical.
Anyways, After 2010, I didn't see any change coming from either side as both parties are driving us off a cliff. Got to know Ron Paul (I know your opinions on the man, no need to bring it up again, the election is over, we all lost) And here was a man, who I lined up with. He presents a very true honest question. Is it really any of our [beeep] business. Economically, he was the only one telling the truth. I came to the conclusion that I need to get ready for the collapse that is coming. I've been fishing for the past 5 years. I decided it was time to learn how to hunt, and prepare to survive. Never owned a gun before, so I decided, the first season, get a .22 and my small game license. There were things I didn't understand about maps, which brought me here. And besides this part of the forum, (united we stand, divided we fall) I love this place. Such a treasure trove of information and hunting porn.

Can somebody please tell me how anybody that lives in this country could even use the term "your flag"?
"Is that >your flag< that's laying on the ground."
It's a term of ownership. Nothing more.
A conservative is someone who wants limited government and fiscal responsibility. Though Im starting to think that is not the case, because that's not what we have got.
I would call myself a libertarian who is registered republican. It's in that party I feel I have a better chance of bringing change.
