Palmetto State Armory

idk, I had a recent midway order that totaled near $1400 and weighed in at 16lbs. Shipping with insurance ran less that $16. Now I realize that size of the package can make a difference but the 2 uppers and 2 stripped lowers might weigh in around 12lbs. and If one were to actually take measurement of the boxes, Id bet that the box midway shipped me for $16 is about the same volume as what it would take to ship 2 uppers and 2 stripped lowers.

44-16=$28 difference in shipping prices. Now I could easily see how it might take a couple more dollars extra to ship a slightly longer box but no way does it cost $28 more.

Just to satisfy my own curiosity I went over to brownells and added 2 stripped lowers and 2 complete uppers to the cart. Shipping estimated to be $16.

I plan on calling Palmetto just to see what they tell me. But I speculate that the charges are more for handling and less for shipping as a way to make up some profit backdoor style.

The dealer does set the shipping charges. They charge whatever they see fit and pay the shipper what the shipper charges them. Most of them are making money on shipping.

But they do have some cost in boxes, packing material, tape and time to package.

JSE charged me $18.00 to ship 2 uppers yesterday.

$15 PER upper is to much.

I believe the last upper I shipped with the dies and a couple hundred rounds of brass cost me around $25. Your larger companies I get a discount or are making it up in the price of some of their items. I just put an upper in my cart at Midway and shipping shows $16.38 for just one upper. A box of Dogtown bullets and 4 pieces for my Hornady dies just cost me $10.81 for shipping.

I agree...I look at there daily deals and its hard not to buy something everyday...there shipping times on uppers leave a little bit to be desired.

I bought an upper from them two years ago when they had them on sale. Great price and quality. The shipping at that time wasn't to bad. I bought a stripped blemished upper prior to black Friday when they were on sale for $30.00. The shipping on that took quite awhile as I had expected it would because of the sale they were running and the current political climate. I do agree that they could take a long look at their shipping times and try to improve it.

Thanks for the heads up on that shotty.... i might have to look into it if they come back in stock at that price.

That means that the military doesn't expect the type of accuracy we do from a black gun. With All the variants 4-6moa is the acceptable standard.

That doesn't really make a guy want to jump all over one does it?

for someone who just wants a gun they can run ammo through and isn't a serious shooter it'd be ok. If you expect better accuracy it's just going to cost more.

PSA listing it like that is a turn off. With ammo other than XM193 or M 855 i bet it will shoot pretty decent. Iv shot run of the mill ball ammo that was all over the place, same gun with handloads its a totally different story. For the price of he upper if it didnt shoot well you could sell the barrel and upgrade.
