I hope PM doesn't lock this thread.
Where do I begin? And who do I blame?
Do I place the blame on Predator Masters?
MOST CERTAINLY!
The blame can also lie on the membership. Probably FOXPRO as well.
First there was Randy Reeves. Even though it is difficult to understand what he is saying on ocassion, his heart seems to be in the right place.
Another that comes to mind is George Ackley. George's true nature was recently exposed.
Clay Reid had his chance and made his intentions perfectly clear just as George did.
There are a couple possibilities to this story.
Let's see if the first one floats.
Story No. 1:
Randy wanted so desperately to hunt with anyone that he decided to auction off an opportunity for someone to hunt with him. Things went fairly well and a few people placed bids here and there (including me) so Randy would have some company. The benevolence of the PM membership became apparent. Or it could have been empathy for yet another person from Louisiana.
In order to boost the bidding, other items were added to the auction. Randy really wanted someone to hunt with.
The auction was nearing the end and PM member George Ackley was the apparent high bidder. Randy was happy but his happiness was short lived. George decided that he didn’t need the auction items nor did he want to go hunting with Randy. George would just send money instead. Poor Randy. Cajuns take hits from all walks of life.
In steps FOXPRO. One of the items in the auction was a FOXPRO AR4 electronic caller. Since George didn’t want it, I was told to place the unit back up on the auction block. George probably wanted the unit but decided that it could raise more money to go to a better use. Bidding was slow but a few pity bids helped get the amount to a reasonable level.
In steps Clay Reid. Clay stepped up to the plate and took honors as the high bidder beating out Todd Borland. The FOXPRO had a home. FOXPRO was happy. But not for long…..
Clay decide that he too didn’t need the FOXPRO and that he would just send money. FOXPRO was sad.
Two conclusions came out of this saga.
1) Nobody loves Randy
2) Nobody love FOXPRO.
The story you just read is fiction. I hope.
The real story is that PM members have been helping to raise money to help another PM member.
CLAY REID was the recent winner of the FP Auction and told me that he wished the FP AR4 to be auctioned off again.
Like George and ALL the other members, their compassion runs deep.
For many of us, Predator Masters is an extended family. When one of our family has difficulties we step up with support and prayers. It's always been that way and I hope it continues.
You may have been following the threads about Casey Middleton's daughter Jen and her health issues.
Along with the concern for Jen's welfare, this young family is struggling under the financial burden as well. I hope we can help with this.
Clay Reid has stepped up to the plate big time
for Jen Middleton.
SO HERE WE GO AGAIN FOLKS!

edit to add: This post is meant in no way to belittle ANYONE who chose not to bid no matter what their reasons. The spirit in which I posted was to COMMEND PM and ALL of its membership. The difficult times that have befallen the Middleton family could happen to any of us at any time. Quite possibly someone who reads this post may not be able to offer any money but may be able to better phrase a more receptive prayer than I which, in my eyes, is much more meaningful.
