On a long range rig weight in not an issue. The heavier the better.

Just got a 3.5-10 x 40 CDS luppy. It weighs in at 13 oz.
NF 2.5-10 x 32 is 19 oz.
Mark 4 4.5-14 x 50 22 oz
NXS 3.5 - 15 x 50 30 oz
just sayin.

Don't get me wrong . I think they are a great scope!
My point is....6 ozs is a lot when building something lite.
Not splitting hairs ,but weights are not the same.
BTW ..
Last I knew 6 oz was more than 1/3 lb and 8 ozs was a 1/2 lb.

The gym is for people who have a desk job.
6 ozs is 6 ozs . Facts are facts !
I'd rather carry 6 more ozs of water in my pack.
In the winter pred season here 2-3 days a week min I walk 2-5 miles per day carring a rifle or shotgun and a back pack full of gear ! Oh don't forgt the snow 3" - 3ft.
Not sure why some of you are so afraid of the facts !

come on, i use nice glass but it does nothing for my calling abilities (unfortunately) nor does it allow my bullets to go any farther nor does it carry me from stand to stand so i dont get tired and surely does not increase my lung capacity.
the nightforce is a great scope but where it really outshines the competition is in the durability and adjustment out farther than most will ever shoot at a coyote.
and for the other discussion:
6oz is roughly half a can of soda. if you're carrying a full pack you won't notice 6ozs. thats less than some peoples belt buckles.
