*LETS SEE YOUR .17 FIREBALLS!!!*

Remington 700, Shilen barrel, 1:9 twist bedded in an HS Precision stock and topped with a Vortex Viper.

Smithed by Bob Green.

"Smithed by Bob Green" that says a lot in itself. You own a quality rifle right there. He has done a couple for me, unsurpassed in quality. I have a barrel coming from Lilja over the next few months and it is going to Bob Green for chambering when I get it.

yes no p-mag had a few problems with thees
just 10 round steel or Aluminum
I only put 7-8 in a 10 round mag runs just fine never had a problem on fedding
I did drill my gas port to .078 and would lock it open on empty with the can on it but with can off would not lock it open on empty mag. so I drilled it to .086 and it now works with or without the can
I have close to 700 down the tube with no problems

17 fire ball fun how to

1ST drill gas port to .086 or have it made at .086 gas port
2nd no p-mags just 10 round steel or Aluminum with 7 or 8 in and have FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like 700's but they can be problematic if you want a repeater (which I assume you do).

Best to get a CZ in 221 or 222 and simply rebarrel.

Sako L461 makes a nice doner too if you can find one.

Not if it's a Remington or Savage.

Sounds like you had to do address some feeding/ejection issues with those AR's too.

What kind of velocity are you guys getting out of your AR's in 17 FB. Just kind of curious, since the 17 Rem AR15 I had was about the same speed as my bolt action 17 FB.

18" 25 gr berger at 3596 fps
18" 20gr v-max at 3779 fps

10" 30GR kindlers at 2700 fps
10" 20GR z max at 3400 fps

working on a 21"

I haven't checked it out myself, but maybe a 700 in 300blk would work for a donor as it is a knecked up fireball.

Purchased this Remington 17 Fireball Limited Edition new in 2007 but sold it just last month. Probably will be one of those guns that I regret selling!
First it wore Burris glass but I switched a couple years later to a Nikon Monarch.

Repete, I love your Cz but i cant hardly think about buying a new .221 then pay the same amount to have it rebarreled to .17 fb.... I might get lucky and find a 700 or m7 factory chambered when I have the cash
