I rarely watch the late-night talk shows. But, last night, I just HAD to watch the Tonight Show (the last few minutes anyhoo).
The musical guest was Loretta Lynn.
I grew up a fan, since my folks have always listened to Country (now known as Classic Country) music.

At only about 6 weeks away from her 84th (!!!) birthday, IMHO, Loretta Lynn still has the "chops".
Yes, in her performance last night, she was looking her age.
And, no, the "spunk" of her youth wasn't there.
But, still...a true legend.

I looked for a video of the performance, but couldn't find it. So, instead here are some of the songs from her latest CD (released today)...starting with the song she sang last night, "Everything It Takes".......................

The following videos actually go together.
The 1st, short one, is just a talking intro explanation that on the CD leads into the song in the 2nd video, "Whispering Sea".....the very first song that Loretta ever wrote.

Loretta has had quite a life. Lots of celebrity and always classy.

Will here's some more Tom Russell. You may have heard the first one.

Here's what happened to "country"

Sounds like Oregon....

I will not be here tomorrow, for Hump Day.
So, I think I will post a few early tunes..........

This song always brings to mind my Grandpa, and Grandma.
Similar to the words of the song, I don't recall ever seeing Grandpa cry...until the day that Grandma passed away.
