Favorite Coyote Bullet

40gr Nos BTHP with 39gr of H380 22-250 Rem 700 vssf
68gr Hornady BTHP with 24.7gr of H335 .223 Rem 700 LTR

Both shoot like a lazer out to 200 yards.

My wife and I took a treated 2x4 that has been sitting in the rain all week and placed it 200 yds away and shot it with a 62 gr PSBT and 55 gr V-Max to see what type of penetration we would get, through and through on both.

Sorry for the poor cell pic.

Favorite coming out of the .243-

You running a poll for favorite Yote bullet and not including the 22-250? Wow...I guess you just want feedback on the cals you shoot huh...

I usually don't want feed back on cartridges I don't shoot?

223/22-250 are the same cal. So is the 221

And FYI I run a 22-250 and a 221 fireball but I pretty well have those figured out. Thanks though

Btw this thread is 6months old...I guess you didn't see that?

Yes...I know it's six months old. BTW...I can't believe you put the .221 and the .223 in the same category with the .22-250.....def not the same.

If you only owned these two calibers... what more would you need... they cover it all...

In guns including firearms, caliber or calibre is the approximate internal diameter of the barrel in relation to the diameter of the projectile used in it.

So yes, a 22-250 and a 223 are the same Caliber. Both are .224 Its the cartridge thats different.

Yep same CALIBER. 221 FB, 223, 22-250 all use .224 bullets...

30-30, 308 win, 300 Win, 300 RUM are all the same caliber. they are .308 diameter.

Real funny stuff.

It's the same old thing, someone will say- a 55grain v-max will blow up on a coyote, they suck, well then you find out they were shot out of a 220 swift, 22-250, or a hot rod 22 shouldernuke, fact is if shot out of a 223 or 222 or 221fb things are different and a v-max is fine, this is what i'm talkin about.see

I love the 69gr Bergers in my 243 they are pushed to 3500 fps and are very fur friendly most of the time you never see a hole just a blood spot when you get them back to the truck

dennyd... you are talking about different cartridges,,, We are talking about caliber. A .224 bullet can be loaded into many cartridges. I shoot a 22K hornet, and 223 Remington. One uses 13 grains of powder, the other uses 27-28 grns. Same caliber. Just a different cartridge, Get it? Even a 22-243 is the same caliber Just more powder behind the load. Caliber is the bullet diameter, not the Cartridge. Get it now?
