My neighbor stopped me today to visit. Seems there was some Police activity in the area and him being the neighborhood watch dog, he "needed" to let me know. Then the subject of being prepared tonite in case the guy the police were looking for came back. I told him if he broke into my place we may be cleaning blood off the carpet tomorrow. He said he had two old pistols and was told they were worth a lot of money. One turned out to be a Ruby Pistol in 32ACP and the other a Colt D.A. 41. Someone had told him they might be worth in the neighborhood of $16,000. About 5 minutes of Google searching kinda blew his hopes of getting rich out of the water. Granted the Colt might bring decent money to the right person but the little Ruby not so much. I told him it might be better just to hang on to the Ruby, get it cleaned up and just use it for home protection. At least ammo is available. As Rick Harrison says, Just because its old doesn't mean its valuable.
