Might want to be checking the pawn shops ........

I just saw a clip on Fox News that said people are going to pawn shops more and more to sell items that they no longer want because of the inflated economy.

I hate to seem like I am advocating on other folks hard times , but there might be a few more guns for sale at pawn shops than normal.

FWIW ..........

I make my pawn shop visits fairly regular. Keeps me acquainted with the owner and his help and occasionally find something I can't live without. Last year, he had an old wooden barrel packed with single shot shotguns, your choice, $60.00. Some keepers went fast, the rest lingered. I went away empty handed.

My area pawn shops always seem to have overinflated junk for sale. The service sucks and you can forget any service after the sale should some issue develop.

I mainly frequent two pawn shops. One owner has turned into a pretty good friend, but still a business man, and the other owner is a member of my gun club so he's a friend as well. I don't get discounts but they usually knock off a few bucks to cover tax. I learned long ago that your not going to get a screamin' deal from a pawn shop. Kinda like going to the casino expecting to win every time you go. Sometimes you win, sometimes you loose. Guns in a pawn shop or just used in general, they're there for a reason. Owner was broke or the gun is a POS.

I have bought one rifle at a pawn shop, and I took my bore scope in with me. Obviously you can't tell much about anything else, but if the barrel is OK and the crown isn't messed up most anything else can be repaired easily.
