.270 Varmint gun?

Nobody has mentioned the 220 Swift, but might be an option.

My REM 700 25-06 likes the 100 grain Speer spire points. Flat and dropped deer, coyotes, hogs and pronghorns

90 grain Sierra Game Kings are my favorite .257 Roberts bullet, mainly for deer hunting. My daughter has been using it for deer and hogs for over 10 years now with that load and has not lost a deer yet.

Might have to try those, the 100 Sierra's shoot fine for me, but could get a few FPS out of a 90.
 
Just about every deer rifle I have owned has been taken for a walk for groundhogs too. I shoot one at about 30 yards while stalking an old hay field with my .30-40 Krag. That 220 gr RN-SP buckled him pretty quickly. Speer's 130 gr SP works great in the .30's
