Wow...
I am so glad to see your groups. I've been wondering if mine were any where near whats normal for the 243wssm and Yeap they are.
Now I have the 20" 1-8twist for sale "you posted there". The gun has ran like a champ no issues other than needs a new trigger and some paint.
I put some 95gr BST winchester stuff threw it and it did about 1" or so. Then ran some 58grVmaxs threw it and they were a little tighter. My main load for this gun was going to be something in the 80's but as of now I haven't done anymore load work or shooting it since I'm trying to sell it for a better cause!!...Need some money for a custom action! But If its still here in a week I will take it off the classifieds and be building a .264LBC "Tight Necked Grendal" on the upper. I will be doing all Machine work so its going to be fun. Anyways Good luck and your rifle looks bad A$$!!

I personally haven't had any luck with the Vmaxs but the bullet Ive had the best luck with is the Sierra 85gr hpbt Gameking.

The Sierra 85 grain HPBT is my "go to" bullet for the .243 WSSM for many years now.

OK this is my experience with the 243wssm. I was trying 35 gr. of varget with the 95 ballistic tip and 95 berger. That was alright, but not what I was looking for. I asked Mike at Dtech what he was using. He said 41 gr. varget and an 87 gr. vmax was his test load. I ignored it like a stubborn irishman. I played and fiddled and thought what does Mike know. Well, two weeks ago I shot the 85 gr. speer btsp,(not a vmax, but close in bullet weight). I worked up from 39, 39.5, 40, 40.5, and 41. Holy cow the 41 gr. varget and 85 gr. btsp shot loaded out to magazine length almost shot one hole groups. I am so very impressed with this combination. I have not done a load confirmation yet, but it is in the near future. This is all I know from experience, good luck.
