Is there any tell tell way to be able to tell the difference between when Marlin made them and the ones made after the buy out?

I have a Marlin from before Remington took over, it just might be my favorite lil gun. Loaded up with a hot load and 240gr XTPs it does some serious damage down range.

True Marlins have the JM stamp on the barrel. This is from the old Marlin plant before Remington took over. Also look at the serial number and get one that starts with 93 or higher to 99 (Meaning 93 was made in 2007 and 99 was made in 2001. Older than 2000 first 2 numbers subtracted from 100 is year made. example: 09 was made in 1991 or 24 was made in 1976.) Hope this helps, Good Luck----Riflemann
