Finally broke the curse! Got a small female fox last night, first with the new gun. I don't know how many hours i have been sitting on the bait this winter, but its a lot. Sat for about 7 hours last night, the fox came after 6.

The vixen.

Whoever did the mount on the marten did an awsome job, I have trapped alot of those buggers and that mount of yours looks how it should, most taxidermists mess them up.

Well, my dad taught me one thing. Got something working, dont change it.. Its a 308. But no big hole in this one. Perfect all round caliber here in Scandinavia, but i have my eyes open after a 243. barrel for roe deer, foxes and other critters and a 9,3x62 for moose and bear. Close up and personal, the way i like it.

Always interested in stories.

That thing on the wall is a marten. First one i ever caught, when i was 11 years old.

Before we start the beaver story i have another story. Last weekend we went too our cabin in Sweden, 200 yards down the road from the driveway there were blood all over the road. Jumped out of the car to take a closer look.. BEAR! track all a long the road, there were drag marks from the left ditch and over in too the woods. Moosehair everywhere, he had dug down the moose only 100 yards from the road. So i really fired up about the fall, picture it. Bear bayed down by the dog, thick brush, a small opening, 8 yard shot and big bear down

So over too the beavershooting. I live in a area with a bunch of big rivers that carry salmon in the summer, so guiding and fishing salmon is a big thing. And with rivers comes beavers. I been hunting beaver the last couple of years just too hunt as long as i can before the 3 longest mouths of the year.. offseason (

) Me and a buddy went and got a tag for beavers in a river that i have been hunting in before and knew were the cabins are. The first day we sat by a old hut that seemed abanded, and it was. But we stuck at it, a unlucky mink came by and he get the taste of a Nosler ballistic tip.

The next day we burrowed a canoe and started of the top of the river paddling down stream, after a while we found lots of places were they had been feeding and decided to go too the bank for a cup of coffee and a pris of snus. In to the third coffee cup i saw bobbles raise from were i thought their hole were. suddenly a bever skull popped up and went down stream. I said to my buddy that we will wait it out a bit, and see if another comes out, so we did. After a while the other came out and i laid out my battle plan. I shot this one, we get in the canoe, paddle down and get the other one. And we did, i shot the first one at 70 yards in the water, dead like someone shut of a switch. jumped in the canoe and picked up the first one, i would paddle and he would shot. We quickly found the other one and the canoe stalk begun

After about 6 or 7 almost chances he shot, same story with the shooting. Two males about the same sice.

Great pics and stories... keep em coming! I am headed over to Alesund, Maloy and Heroy May 8 and was planning a tromso visit too, but ran out of time to get up there as I have to fit in a Faroe Island junket to see a customer there. Maybe this summer. Where are you located? Salmon fishing sounds interesting:)
