I have an Aimpoint MilCompML2-2X. 2 min of angle dot and 2 power scope mounted in a scout position. Great set up for hunting coyotes. I think if you wanted more power you could mount a magnafier behind the scope. You can shoot this set up with both eyes open.
I asked the same question a while back, and one of the responders suggested an M4 clone from Primary Arms. I have since bought one and have it on my AR plinker and like it a lot. For the price (89 bucks) it can't be beat. I have the M4 because it works on normal battery's, but i read the M3 is good as well. I bought my M4 from primary arms.
I have scopes for my prarie dog and target paper shooting, and if that is what you want, I would suggest a conventional scope (because there is no magnification here) .... but if you metal shooting, having fun, or after runners within 150 yards or so, this is a fun alternative.
This is my first reddot, and I am having fun with it....for the dough, why not.
