Prairie Dog Gear Checklist

That morning the "cook" was me... Since my wife and I used to own and operate a B&B and are both amateur gourmet cooks, I usually get tagged for most of the cooking, everyone else gets to clean up... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Usually the cooking chores get passed around if we are just doing basics, but if they want fancy, then it falls to me..That morning it was "Stuffed French Toast" and an antique breakfast casserole that is made with thinly sliced beef, 18 eggs, some wine, mushrooms and cheese... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I have a friend that is part owner in a feed lot in KS and usually get some Prime grade tenderloins from him and cut my own filets and that evening we feasted well... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif

As far as being available, I'm always "up for bid" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You sound like you're recovering well. Hope to see you out on the firing line this summer. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

skb2706, just two of us this time..me,a regular sized person, and my skinny Irish hunting partner..we're traveling heavy but compact..8 scoped rifles in soft cases, ammo in bags, two traversing benches w/attached seats, one solid bench [the Irishman is going for a >1000 yd PD] and a stool...cellphone,laptop,GPS, camera, rangefinder, binoculars, a couple of shade canopies, some maps, money, credit cards, clothes including boots and a hat, toiletries including meds and a personal crisis intervention tool each[ mine is .45]. We'll buy consumables such as food and water on the way..us FL guys understand the benefits of tourist spending.

Now I do understand this may be a one-shot deal for me..I'm 6'2" and 210# and wearing an Escort for 5K miles will be a challenge but a lot of us old guys are semi-tough or so we think.

unk - I can appreciate your mission. Even for me the 210 miles cost me some money. My problem is, like you my 6'5" frame and 225 lbs. don't go into an Escort and leave alot of room for essentials.
The upside is I can leave the tables, chairs and alot of extras at my sisters place. This would allow me to use a more cost effective vehicle to get there.

cost effective does not = comfortable tho
