So I am in the process of a 6.5 mm build. I am leaning heavily to the 260 Rem AI. I am using a Rem M7 action, so most of the larger cartridges are out...the plan is to shoot 140 or even 130 gr Berger VLDs.

Currently, I have a Brux bbl on the way. Here's what it's looking like..

Rem M7 Action, Trued
Brux 6.5 1-8" #4 barrel
B&C medalist stock
Factory bottom metal
X-Mark trigger @2#
Leupold VX-2 CDS 3-9x40
Talley LWs

What do you folks think? Just go ahead with the AI? I want to milk as much speed out of this rifle as possible. The work is going to be done down the road at Long Rilfes Inc.thnks in advance for your comments.

Did you find the barrel over at Accurate? I'd get about 2820 with 50.9gr of H1000. Never tried anything else since I got a bunch. Mine shoots good with it. Probably run over 2900 with th ai depending on powder

Short action, 130 gr. bullets, a 6.5x47l sounds perfect to me. Many, many people are claiming 2800-3000 fps at around 40 gr. of powder. Just a thought

The 47L isn't off the drawing board. I've just seen where the 260 AI is getting more speed...but it's just inter web lore right now...

I'll worn ya now, it's an expensive long road..
