My new Savage 12 .22-250 came yesterday!

I just had a 22-250 built on a Rem 700 (used) rifle. I had the heavy barrel from another build. The smith was going to rethread the barrel anyway. Could not find a used Savage to fit the project. I have a Tact model 10 Savage in .223 that is a tack driver. Next Savage to be a 6.5-284 they are coming out with.

Yesterday I finally had a chance to work with some loads and I found that the 12FV shot really well with 39grns of H380 with a 50grn V-max. I am using Win brass and a CCI 250 primer.

I put 5 shots on paper at 100 yds that would fit under a nickle so I thought that was ok for the small amount of time ive had to work with the gun.

Rel15 is another outstanding powder for the 50gr bullets. You might consider giving it a try too. Im really impressed with my VLP but I purchased it without a barrel and screwed on a Shilen. It shoots like hells bells
