Joe the plumber has been making news in the last few days. It seems that he is saying the things most of us would love to say,if given the chance. And there is no end to the depth of hatred coming from the left wing media. They have determined that neither Joe nor the owner of his company have licenses.Joe says they don't need them.Well I see where this is going.A related story below.

‘His Invisible Friend Joe the Plumber’
Don’t ignore this man.

By Kathryn Jean Lopez

The title of this piece — “His invisible friend Joe the Plumber” — comes from a line with which MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann started his late-night post-debate broadcast on Wednesday night.

The problem with the host’s description is that Joe the Plumber is anything but invisible. To the taxman. Now, to the candidates. I don’t know if Joe the Plumber will win the election for John McCain. But he should.

Because in the end this election is all about freedom. And Senator Government is not.

Joe the Plumber, as everyone by the end of this weekend is liable to know, is one Joe Wurzelbacher, an Ohio plumber who wants to buy a business but knows it’s going to hurt him, tax-wise, if Barack Obama becomes president.

To his concerns, Obama told Joe: “It’s not that I want to punish your success, I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they’ve got a chance at success, too. I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody.”

What does that sound like to you. Could it be . . . Marx? Could it be . . . socialism?

In an Internet interview this week, after his now-infamous run-in with Barack Obama, Plumber Joe worried about just that: “You start giving people stuff, and then they start expecting it — and that scares me. A lot of people expect it now. They get upset when their check’s late, they get upset when they don’t get as many benefits as they used to, or when different government agencies are cut or spending is cut here and there for whatever reason — people get upset at that. And that’s because they’re used to getting it and they want more. I mean, everyone’s always gonna want more. People work the system left and right to get more out of welfare, to get more out of state assistance, federal assistance. And if government’s there for them, they’re gonna keep on trying to manipulate it to get more out of it. You got people that come along and say, “Hey, I wanna help you people,” I mean, they’re all ears! They’re like, ‘Hey, you can help me more, I don’t have to work as hard, I don’t have to do as much, and you’re gonna give me this? Man, that’s great, you’re a good guy.’”

He continued, “So yeah, it goes down the socialist — His health-care plan scares me. You know, I don’t like people going without health care, but it’s not my job to pay for everyone else’s health care. It’s hard enough paying for my own. I like the idea of deregulation as far as — nationally, you know, you only get insurance companies that can work in this state — if you deregulate that then you have more people competing and then the prices would go lower. It seems pretty simple to me. It probably isn’t that simple — but you flood the market with more products, usually they go down cheaper.”

Whereas John McCain talked Wednesday night about things like choice — and not the murdering type Obama did — Barack Obama rightly worries Americans like Plumber Joe.

In this election, the burdens of our taxpayers have been an afterthought in the face of an unprecedented government takeover of the mortgage industry. But excessive government comes at an excessive cost — not just in economic theory, but to very real people. (That’s “real” in the sense of “non-imaginary,” Keith.) I don’t know how the Joe the Plumber strategy polls, but, for the sake of all the Joes out there, let’s listen to the Plumber’s concerns about what a President Obama would mean to all of our pocketbooks.

Joe the alleged plumber. This for the lack of a better word, "Plant" doesn't even have a plumbing license nor is he even registered to vote. When I head McCain speaking on him I knew immediately that something was dubious.

So what does the status of his license have to do with the desirablity of having the federal govt "spread the wealth around"?

Marxism at it's finest.

Because I'm tired of working my arse off all the time so as an alternative means I think I wants some of Stu's BIG $$ to help me out /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif. How about floating a buddy a loan?

D.R. reread my post,Joe the plumber or plant is saying to Obama's face what most of us wish we had the chance to say.Personally I don't believe it was set up,he and his boss are now being pursued by the authorities for not having a license. Why? Because he stood up to the media darling. I hope some of the political pundits start a fund for his legal defense as I would be proud to contribute.

According to press reports "Joe the Plumber" Wurzelbacher was playing football in his front yard with his son, Joey, on Sunday afternoon when Mr. Obama made an unscheduled stop to go door to door greeting voters and asking for their support.

So, how in the world was he planted in his own yard throwing the football with his 13 y-o son when Obama made an unscheduled drop in?

That just doesn't pass the smell test, sorry DR.

He HAS worked for several years for an outfit called Newell Plumbing & Heating Co. Newell HAS a plumbing license and it is legal for his unlicensed employees to work under his supervision on a job site. Wurzelbacher is currently working on taking the Ohio plumbing contractors’ license test. Newell is the company he is buying.

He IS a registered voter: "Linda Howe, executive director of the Lucas County Board of Elections, said a Samuel Joseph Worzelbacher, whose address and age match Joe the Plumber’s, registered in Lucas County on Sept. 10, 1992. He voted in his first primary on March 4 of this year, registering as a Republican."

His story is totally legit and these nit-picky little 'gotchas!' the Left is flailing with are a smokescreen to try to conceal to the American people that, like his mommy, Obama is a Marxist who seeks to take from people who work and give the fruits of their labor and risk to his followers--ie unproductive, lazy people on the dole.

the whole claim of him being a plant is a concerted effort to change the subject. Don't want people to be thinking about obama's answer.

Update, Joe is actually registered, my bad.

I used to work for contractors that didn't have their contractors State board license that had taken the exam and couldn't pass it. They would use my license and bid on jobs. I have my HVAC group 2 & 3's and the test isn't a walk in the park. Why do you suspect that Joe doesn't have his license? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

Dunno. I can't even guess.

What matters is that he is who is says he is and Obama still wants to 'spread the wealth' of folks who work hard and take a risk by starting or buying a small company, like the Newell Plumbing and Heating Co., the company Joe is buying.

The notion that somebody whose small biz grosses over $200K in receipts is somehow 'bad' and 'owes' the lazy and unproductive the money the biz person earned is really, really scary and not the America my ancestors fought for.

I think Joe has a ~$1000 tax lien on him, too, BTW, but I couldn't care less. None of this takes a thing from his question or, more importantly, Obama's scary answer.

Hells bells, I've had tax BS, too, BTW. It happens when you suffer under an overcomplicated tax code and live, like I do, in a socialist state run by people with a fundamental hatred for non-minority, non-woman owned small biz owners.

I mean, really. if mccain can set that up, then by [beeep] he's better than I thought & we ABSOLUTELY need him in the white house.

Valid question, no matter who asked it.

Answer that Americans need to know & think about.

His motives are suspect. When he's in his own yard, approached out of the blue by obama.

like I said, if mccain can set that up, get obama to choose to walk into his plants yard, then mccain needs to win. he's the guy I want dealing with the worlds thugs.

Who gives a [beeep] about if he's liscensed, registered or whatever. The point is that a PRESIDENTIAL canidate gave an answer right out of the communist manifesto!!!! Wake up people.
