Thanks everybody!!

it will help to know what bullet(s) and powders you have on hand. Also, getting a "pet" load could possibly be worthless to you or even dangerous.

There is NO SUBSTITUTE for working up your own load in your own rifle.

I have several bullet combinations on hand. If someone that says 'I have a rifle like that that shoots berger 50 grainers with such and such powder', yes you are right. 100% of the time: Work up the load yourself!
I have found in the past, if you do find someone with that certain make and model rifle , and work up to their load, it does work. Not all the time. But some of the time.
I had such a case while loading for 2 338 lapu's. Saved a lot of time and $$!!

50% of nothing is still nothing.

Here goes nothing.

Imr-4007ssc with the 50gr plastic tip of your choice works well for me. As does RL-17. Good stuff in the 250.

I have on hand:
55 grain sierra HP
52 grain match sierra
50 grain nosler ballistic tip

8208
varget

imr 4320 (IMR powders in metal canisters)
imr 3031
imr 4350
imr 4064
imr 4895
imr 4831

h 4831
h 4350
h 100v
h 380
rl 17
rl 22
rl25
n14o
n560

retumbo
h1000
imr 7828

WLP
GM210M

win brass

you could start with 32 or 32.5gr of 3031 with the 55s. 32.5gr shot pretty decent out of 2 of mine. Its a pretty mild load but should be into 3500fps give or take depending on the barrel. I prefer ar comp though as it meters better.

I have burned a 20 lb can of IMR 3031 in several different 22-250s in past years prairie dog shootin. works good but 32 gr was max for my rifles. all very accurate. IMR 8208 is where i would start. flows through a powder measure to within 2 tenths grain accuracy, not temp sensetive, super accurate in any bullet, brass, primer combination in three 700 rem and two mauser custom heavy barrel. I have burned alot of 5 different powders you list. 8208 is what i would try first.

I loaded up some 52 grain sierra hpbt match and some 8208.
Another load with same bullet but with imr 4054.

2nd bullet Im trying is a 55 grain nosher ballistic tip with 8208 and 4064.
Heading to range tuesday. It should be a balmy 21 degrees.
I will post results. Thanks again for the help!

I went to the range and tested four different loads and the imr 8208 xbr with 35.8 grains with 55 bal tips turned in a 4 shot group @ 100 yards 1/4''x 9/16''.
8208 with 52 grain sierra match came in second with 15/16'' x 3/16''.
imr 4064 36.3 grains w/52 sierra match 15/16'' x 1 7/16''.
imr 4064 36.3 grains w/55 bal tip 1 11/16'' x 1 3/4''.
This was the first time i shot the rifle so there maybe some operator error along with these numbers. 14 degrees might of played a roll too.
I like the rifle. Just like all rifles, they need tweaking. The bolt up and down is uncommonly stiff. I oiled it and greased it with little improvement. Found paint chips after bolt work. No wear marks on the bolt lugs where there should be marks is kinda spooky. Trigger measured just over 3 lbs. which also needs a little TLC to get group sizes down.
The design forearm is something I think a lot of manufactures should adopt. The evenness of the reward recoil is remarkable. I found placing the rear bag a challenge with the design it has.
I am suffering from carpal tunnel after working the scope power ring!

And having finished with the howa and then going to the kimber with a vx3 4.5-14 leupold optics was a monster difference. (See price difference.)
Pretty impressive right out of the box. Really like the camo except for the flakes showing up in the action area. Thanks for the help! You saved me time and $$$!
