Hello,
I just want to say that this forum is really great! My dad was a member on here before he passed away last year. He was always telling me stories and showing me pics of some guy in Central TX? that hunted yotes and cats at night and took people on guided trips all the time. Anyway Ill get to the point here. Ive hunted all my life (Im 29) and I love predator hunting along with deer and turkeys. I live in southern OK so we have a few yotes and cats along with a fox occasionally. I have more guns than I can shoot but Im wanting to get a good coyote/varmit gun in .22-250. I have one already in a light weight browning and it shoots extremely well, but Im wanting something a lil different this time. I have narrowed it down to a Savage since I have never owned a Savage and I have heard many good things about them recently. I was thinking about the Model 12 possibly the "FV" with the heavy 26" barrell in black and synthetic. Today I was in a local gunshop and I spotted a Win. Mod 70 "Coyote Outback". I had never seen one of these rifels before and I was really impressed with the feel and the looks of it in Stainless and laminate stock. My question is does anyone know how these Coyote Outbacks shoot as compared to the Savage 12?? The Outback is about $300 more expensive so I would like to hear some reviews before I made a choice. As of now Im still leaning towards the Savage 12. Im wanting a gun for coyotes at maximum yardage. I hand load my own ammo so I realize that load developement will play a big factor here, but I want to start off with the best platform possible for the goal im wanting to achieve.
Also, if there is anyone that lives close to me that would like to meet up and hunt sometime let me know. I have a few places to hunt, nothing special, but Im always up for meeting new people and learing new things.
Thanks in advance for the opinions on the above guns.
