LOL I have seen videos and have had a red get pretty close to me, but to actually hear that it happened from a local is truly amazing.
I have often thought about what I would do if I needed to hunt alone at night. I think I came up with using a bipod/tripod for for the rifle and a tripod for a spot light. I dunno how it would work, but it's something to atleast try. Obviously in Pa you cannot have a rifle mounted light, so that's out the door too.
At minimum, a bipod for your rifle is a must. If you can hold the gun with one hand and use the spot light with the other, then you will do well.
I just don't think a headlamp is going to be enough. Also, so if you have a headlamp, how will you keep the light on the target as you look through the scope?
