Fox jack decoy topper alternatives

The topper got torn off of the whip on my fox jack and was thinking about putting something more natural on there instead of the batman wing dealio. Maybe a piece of fur or something. Anybody mess around with other toppers?

I have made several with feathers from the craft store.

Brown/black/white fake fur strips, feathers, coyote tail slide over the floppy rod, etc.

I just re vamped my shockwave decoy from the little black and white woodpecker. I cut about a 1/4 x 6" piece fur off of a coyote skin and it looks pretty good to me. But I am not a coyote, time will tell.
