Factory .223 ammo for coyotes

Not sure they are still available but Federal used to have 200rd Bulk Packs .223 50gr HP at Walmart for $57.something a pack.
I bought 800rds and they shoot great in a Bushmaster AR I used to have and my Savage Axis, both 1-9 twists. Not much pelt damage in the coyotes I've shot with these and they work great on groundhogs.

My 223's all seem to like RAM 55gr V max loads. I've taken a lot of coyotes with them without a splash hit yet. Most were with my 20" AR and this load is only moving 2964fps from it though. It's pretty reasonably priced and effective around here.

If my guns liked them better I'd use the Hornady Superformance 53gr V max. The same AR shoots 3286fps with that load on average but doesn't seem to like them as well for accuracy. I plan to experiment a bit more and try to find an AR that does like them.

My 20" bolt 223 only got 2750fps from Ultramax 50gr ballistic tips. They shot good and worked well at shorter distances.
