Democrats (Teachers) Behaving Badly

Oh wait jeffo, you beat me to it. [beeep], you are good! (end sarcasm)

Still waiting for an answer. Wisconsin is 44th in what? "Facts" can be found (manufactured) to support any position. I prefer to think for myself, based on experience. Never have been much of a fan of gang mentality. Seems to be big here though. If that bothers you then you're probably part of it.

There is more I'll address. When I was hired at my city job many years ago. Full retirement was averaged out over an employee's last 3 yrs base pay.
At that time, it totaled 50% MAX. When I retired many years later. The MAX retirement pay was over 80%.

Some years back, city officials & city management. Decided to pay an outside firm to come in and do a management "wage study". Hey, guess what of all things. It was "discovered" they were ALL underpaid. Imagine that of all things.

So they ALL ended up getting bumped up to a much higher pay scale. On the taxpayer's dime. So the World is round after all, imagine that.

My wife is currently a government employee. Although I have her covered on my retirement insurance. Which is very expensive. She is still "given" FREE insurance on her [union bargained] insurance "single plan". It costs her NOTHING. Again, on the taxpayers dime. Hey! guess what, joe taxpayer is BROKE.

Care to address this jeffo?

Not incorrect so much as incomplete. Gov. Thompson instituted the QEO in the early 90's. It was dissolved this past year. In the time between then, teachers' salaries dropped about 6% overall. Many districts took a pay CUT to keep their jobs.

Hey, guess what? I pay taxes same as you. Yes, joe taxpayer is broke - but eliminating middle-class jobs ain't gonna fix that, is it? And guess what else? The rich 1% are getting richer because of guys like Walker. It's my money and yours that they are stealing. Don't tell me about being broke fella', take it up with the republican fata$$es.

When did I say that Wisconsin was 44th in anything? If you truely "think for yourself" then why are you quoting from a socialist writer? Gang mentality? Take a look outside the Wisconsin state capital...you're not part of a gang mentality? Really. I too base my opionions on experience, does that mean that my experiences are invalid? Having lived all over this country, and around the world, helped shape my political views. So which view point has more validity? Someone who has been there and done that (I even got the t-shirt) or someone who read something in a book once?

Well jeffo, it isn't just Republican people I refer to. It is people in general, specfically people with pull. Many people in management & labor, abuse that power. While working in governement, FOR the PEOPLE. Regardless, joe taxpayer gets a un-welcome push through the barbed wire fence. Fortunately, joe taxpayer still has his trousers up. Well, for the most part.

We are "broke" because public debt is greater than we can afford. Eliminating any drain on the public treasury helps to solve that problem.

ALL public employees are a drain on the economy by definition. Some are necessary leeches, but ALL are leeches, including you.

When the rich get richer, it's because they are risking losing their wealth, but beyond that, most of us know that it's the risk who create jobs. The rich don't get rich by stealing my money, they get rich by creating new wealth (and jobs).

Bottom line is that we know what the cost of high quality education should be, because we have the private schools as examples. We also know that we are forced to pay a much higher cost for an inferior product.

The question then is why we taxpayers are forced to pay (a lot!) more for an inferior product, when there is a cheaper and superior product available. The answer to that question, in large part, is the teacher's unions.

and where do you get the $$ to pay your taxes? from those of us that actually produce something. you are just the middle man, getting a share of our tax money as it gets sent to the government.

You don't see too well. This doesn't make sense, even for here.

You really don't have a clue, do you? Talk a good game though. Most cult leaders do.

Ever been a monkey? Now you know how it sounds when we get a response from you. I have never been a teacher...I have had plenty of teachers just like you, that have helped shape my opionion. That would be an experience right? Most of my info, about "what teaching entails" I get from my teacher friends. One of which, you actually complemented in this whole debate.

and conservatives. from glen becks rally last summer

people who are rich, or become rich, do so because they do the things that make them rich.

ditto for people who are poor or broke.

a rich person who stops doing the right things won't stay rich. it's a behavior & choices thing.

I dunno what it is about people that makes them puke up their mindless drivel of envy for others.

If you want to become rich, you can. You will have an easier time of it, and become richer, if you start while you're young.
