I have shot deer with the 243Win, 25-06, 6.5xs55, 6.5x06, 7x57,280Rem, 30Carbine 308Win, 30-30, 338Wim Mag. Don't think one really was better than the other, all the deer were adequately dead!

Anything from .243 to 7mm mag will get the job done just fine the 7mag is a little bit on the over kill side but I love mine. My 243 put them down just fine with less mess.

I use Win. Silver Tip ammo in just about everything i shoot...

Remington 700 in a 243 cal with a 100 gr cor lokt ammo that's my choice had confirmed one shot kill's out to 525yrd's ( i practice on groundhogs all spring and summer long year after year never get's old

I agree with misterfuzzer. I personally hunt with .22 caliber rifles. If its a head shot you don't need much.
