This interesting, where I grew up the fox was king, we called them for a $5.00 bounty, gas was $.20/gal. Although I trapped a couple coyotes in western MN in the late 70's it was 100 fox to 1 coyote.
When I did encounter one in central WI bow hunting in the 1960's I was told it was a "Brush Wolf".
So my total exposer to coyotes, even spoken about was "Wile E Coyote" until the 1980's so "Coyotee" is kind of stuck on me. I heard foxes barking and Grey wolves howling before I ever heard a coyote howl.
