Bullet Choice and Ballistics for .223 AR

Practice makes perfect, set yourself up a couple targets. each rifle (esp gas guns) will act differently with bullets loads , barrel lengths, and dies. Mostly noticed with scopes verses open sights. Most accurate way is to set up targets, get your point blank range (PBR/point of impact within the kill zone, depending on your rifles favorite load), then track elevation changes at distances closer and further. My varmint rigs are POA/POI (point of aim/Pt of impact) at 185 yards, (mainly because of my available range 6 feet from my bed). I hold top of back at 300 and manage to turn them over with the lighter weighted bullets. But a couple thousand rounds a year practice doesn't hurt. If you know your weapons PBR you take the guess work out of quickly fired shots at moving yotes.

Always great reading and learning from everyone's perspectives. Keep center, JHG
