when shooting at animals a long ways away as in like 600 or more yards. unsuppressed its common for this to happen. I haven't done it suppressed but, what happens without a can is the animal hears the bullet crack and often thinks its behind them because the bullet passes before they hear the crack. then they hear the report of the rifle second. initially they run toward you but usually end up confused as to what is going on.
