After 15 years, I'm finally back in the T/C Contender game

I miss the good old days when T/C Contenders were everywhere. Custom barrels flowed like water in my area( South Eastern Ohio), and the custom woox stocks were readily available from places like Blueberry, and Virgin Valley. I live about 30 minutes from Baltic Ohio, Todd Kindler, and Small Caliber news( now long gone).

A recent purchase from a fellow who lives about 10 minutes from me has rekindled my love of the T/C Contender, a new.

This one is chambered in 17 Remington. A caliber I'd always wanted, but never could seem to procure until now. The stock set is from High Plains Gunstocks. It is sassafras with rosewood accents.
Once the weather warms up a bit, I'll be at the range work up loads.... Cheers

Nice! I've had some fine hunts with my Contender, for which I have a factory .223 barrel and a MGM .30-30 Ackley. Lots of fun.

BTW, welcome to Predator Masters!

I love my little Contender. I’ve had it for about 30 years. Had a lot of barrels over the years but have only two now. 24” .17 Tactical(pictured) and a 24” .17 Ackley Hornet. Fun little rifle.
Good Hunting Chad
