45-70 loads

I bought some Laser cast 405 grainers and 2 Lbs of Reloder 7 to brew up some 45-70 loads.. Does anyone have any recipies for this combo?

Whatcha shootin them in? Makes a difference. Here's some healthy jacketed and cast levergun loads. The Lyman 48th has trapdoor RL7 data for 405gr jacketed and cast bullets.

you can flat make a thumper outa that! Pushing 430's outa my guidegun over healthy dose a RL-7. It will flat make you lose some fillings in your teeth. talk about anchor a bull in the dark timber though.
For those "lighter" 405's /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif try starting just north of 40 grns or so of RE7 and work up.

13 gns of universal and you will have a quit load with no recoil and amazingly accurate.

have used this load in several rifles and worked well in all.

as always you are responsible for your own loads so be careful.

I shoot a Marlin CB 1895 but I have not shot any RL7 loads in it.

I shoot a Marlin 1895 cowboy like blinddog, you might want to try some IMR trailboss it makes a good easy load to shoot without taking your teeth out...
