I believe this is the only Predator Hunting site in history to do something like this. At Predator Masters we feel it important to actually do something to further the sport. Today because of the support of members and sponsors, along with the work of volunteers here, we are in a position to do one more thing.

As we move along towards achieving our stated goals, we now have the opportunity to include another project that is being put into motion.

Predator Masters is offering a scholarship for its members and family to offset the expenses of further education. Our goal is to encourage the youth of today to pursue a career in Wildlife Management, Forestry, Animal Science or other closely related fields. We appreciate the loyalty of our members and sponsors. This is our way of saying thanks to those who have supported us. We feel that the future of our sport will greatly depend on the leaders of tomorrow and we would like to encourage the pursuit of these ideals.

Predator Masters is offering two $500 scholarships to be awarded by August 1, 2009 to be used for the fall 2009 Semester/Quarter. Deadline for Entry is April 25, 2009.

Applications will be available in the next week or so on our shopping cart. You will be able to download and print them. They will then need to be sent to the address at the bottom of the form.
We really wanted to make this program available this year and that is why there is short notice.

After this year, Predator Masters will offer two $500 Scholarships to be awarded annually. Funds will be paid directly to the successful applicant, upon submission of proof of enrollment . If for some reason the winner does not fulfill his requirement for college enrollment, another recipient will be awarded the Scholarship.

The scholarship is available to any full-time student who is a Member of Predator Masters or a Child/Grandchild of a Member with at least 100 posts. Declared major should be Wildlife Management, Forestry, ETC.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Member of Predator Masters or a Child/Grandchild of a member with 100 posts.
2. Pursuing post secondary education
3. Proof of Acceptance to a College/University, or Educational institution
4. Declared major in Wildlife Management, Forestry, Agriculture, Animal Science or other closely related field.
5. Applicant must have a 95% attendance rate their Senior Year.

Applications will be reviewed by Predator Masters for approval, and selection.
If any one has any questions, please contact myself or Barry Stewart aka Rockinbbar

I’d like to thank all of you who support Predator Masters. It would be impossible without you.

Does the person applying for the scholarship have to have at least 100 posts, or is the 100 post rule only if the applier is a child/grandchild of a member?

thanks

This is perhaps the coolest thing I have come across on any outdoors site.

You guys rock.

A couple of years ago, Jr. won a wingbone yelper in the Turkey Picture Contest, and that is proudly diplayed alongside the fan of the bird in his bedroom. A nice touch, getting some recognition from other sportsmen! We both practiced using it, and then hung it up - too nice to drag out in the brush.

A scholarship is truly the next level.

How nifty to put the resources of outdoorsmen behind the next generation.

A tip of my hat to Predator Masters. I'll stop by more often (if work allows!!!).

How about anesthesia? I start the Mayo anesthesia program in sept and this would really come in handy. I could use my knowledge to save the life of a coyote one day

Redfrog,

I'll be sending an application--I had to make some adjustments with the application since I'm in college already, hope you won't mind.

If their studies fall within the parameters of promoting hunting in general and predator hunting in particular, or related wildlife management courses, then by all means send me the list.

Would attending the US Naval Academy, majoring in biology or related science, then going on to flight school after graduation and coming home on occassional leaves to shoot coyotes with his old dad qualify ? Believe it or not.....cadets/midshipmen pay for lot's of personal educational expenses such as :books, calculators, computers, uniforms, etc. and scholarships are most appreciated .

GO NAVY !

Thats really cool - I sure hope you can help someone out that really needs it. I'm a bit too old to apply for things like this, not to mention I have nowhere near 100posts (just joined)and Im a bit late on the deadline But as an adult working full time and going to night school working towards a bachelors in Wildlife Biology, I know what its like to need a little extra money for school, so I could only imagine how badly a kid right out of high school would need it! So anyways I think you guys are really doing a good thing here - keep up the good work, and God Bless.

Hey "outdooraholic"... Welcome to PM!

We certainly need all the certified "Wildlife Biologists" we can get to help protect our hunting heritage and better understand and control our animal populations.

You might want to look up "Yellowhammer", he's a moderator here and our resident "Wildlife Biologist"! He's a nice guy, too!

Age really isn't an issue, it's an honor! LOL Now, hurry up and get your 100 posts in before next year's deadline!

Congratulations of the chosen field. Give it a shot Shooter. The deadline is April 25th for receiving entries. We will not choose recipients till August. YOu have plenty of time to acquire status. The 100 post count was designed to thank our loyal productive members. Join in with us in the hunting forums. We all look forward to hearing some stories. Even check out the youth forum. We have several members nearing Graduation.

So I have been on for a little while, but I don't know as much as most of the guys on here so I usually don't end up posting unless I have a question, and seeing as I can usually make sense of what is posted I don't have to ask too many questions. So, is the 100 post a hard and and true before the deadline thing cause I guess I could plug in a bunch of post to bump my numbers, but I don't really see the point of wasting space to do it.

BTW I'm working full time and going to school for a double major in Wildlife Managment and Range Science. It just so happens the re-accreditation people "didn't" tell some of the faculty here that the last school they were renewing the accreditation for was Texas A&M and they said as far as education NMSU had at least as good a program in Range Science.
