Here's a summary of events of my 1st trip to PM's annual hunt. Can't say enough good things about the people I met. I'd share a stand with any of them in a hearetbeat & proud to call them my friend...

WEDNESDAY...
Arrived at the casino & met up with Onefoot.

Got checked in and took a ride to get all the necessary tags for hunting. Then off to confirm zero on the AR and do some scouting for the morning. Found some good sign and a nice set of lion tracks to boot. High hopes for the am!

THURSDAY...
Stayed on 1st stand for an hour hoping for big kitty but no visitors. Moved off a little ways & called in a pair of coyotes off the far foothills of a mountain. Unfortunately, they circled wide and dropped out of sight 400yds out. No shots taken except for this picture of a beautiful stand...

Lots of driving for the rest of the day and the occasional stand but no comers. Came out of the high country and seen a yote streaking across the meadow. I attempted a 300yd+ shot at a dead run but boned it. Shortly thereafter, we met up with Dogboy, Yellowhammer & derbyacresbob after a missed oppurtunity on stand. What a beautiful place to meet some fellow hunters for the first time!
Thursday night, met a bunch more of the guys and got to place faces w/ screen names. What an excellent bunch of fellas! MJM showed how to skin a couple yotes with a come along...very cool tactic.

FRIDAY...
Onefoot & me bumped into Sean Martin & Travis at Jerry's & shared breakfast together. Two more great dudes from Texas. Went back to their room & visited awhile. The weather was horrendous and I was glad to swap stories with these two fellas.
Bumped into DTECH & dtech at lunch and visited awhile with them & friend Don. I asked if they'd be interested in a stand if the weather lifted. They said sure & we left it at that
Well, the weather lifted so I hollered at room DTECH and before you know it we were off to go kill a coyote. 1st stand one came running in & coaxed it to within 50yds. It was about to bolt so I squeezed one off and thought I missed when it took off. Mike found some fur where I shot it and a dot of blood. Well, let me tell you, those DTECH boys got some bloodhound in them somewhere! Marshall found my yote two washes over and we shared a real nice moment together & took pics.

Those of you know Mike know that he is just a super guy. His son Marshall is just like dad. It was truly an awesome moment shared...exactly what I came to Globe for in the first place!

Great story and pics Freddy, wish it wasn´t such a long drive for me to get there LOL! Congrats on the yote, glad you found it as tracking can be hard without snow or a dog.

Freddy, it must have been that cototes lucky day. That is the same one I missed a few minutes before.

It was pleasure to meet you. Did you do any good with Clint on Sunday?

Fred

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner but with four girls and one computer it is had to get in here.

It was great fun to go out calling with you. We both learned a little on the differances between calling out here and on the East coast.

The most important part was that the hunters back east were just as silly/crazy as we are. Or was it that the coyotes back east are bigger than the ones here and come in alot slower.... Owell neither matters we just had a great time anyway...

Need to remember that a line on the Res map might not be a road but a goat trail...Had some great views up on the top of the Mountian any way.

Hope to see you on the next hunt take care and watch your down wind.

Phil,
Work has grabbed me by the short & curlys & hasn't let go since I got home. The FX5 is charged & ready for action. Roger killed a couple with his "new" 416 too!!! I was happy to hear about that!

I'm going hunting upstate this weekend, come what may. And one is gonna hit the snow when I get out there!

And thanks again for the invite! I'm going to do my best to get back out to AZ before the weather warms...hopefully.

Good luck this weekend. Turn the snow red for me, it's 80 deg down here!!!!

Hell, Roger can "kill" coyotes just by rubbing two sticks together!!!! Awesome deal you offered, #1 in my book!!!

Good Luck!!!
