Lot of guys are here and hunting.

Nothing was killed on Tuesday, and 4 coyotes were killed today.

Jiminaz, Dan Carey, Dogboy, and Phillip Jones all killed coyotes. Yours truely missed one, as did genisis today.

Homefully more fur will come in tomorrow.

Thanks YH! Hope to hear more and see pics. Fred Knockemdown let out of the bag that you've got internet at the Hotel, so no excuses now!

Safe and Fun! Wish I was there!

RagnCajn took my son, Marshall, and I out for one stand last night. We didn't see anything, but had a great time.

This is Randy and Marshall with our stand in the background.

The weather was great yesterday, but this morning we are getting pretty steady rain.

Whats with this missing crap? Did you find the places I took you last year?

Mike, you better find someone else to hunt with in AZ. Randy is fun to hunt with , but he has a steak of bad luck as wide as the mighty Mississip when it comes to hunting AZ.

LOL! We can't step across it, but we can wade across it without issue. We live right on the river, right where it turns South for the first time.

My son and I went out with Knockem'down this afternoon and got one on the first stand! Knockem'down shot it at about 50 yards, but thought he missed it. He and my son saw it run out of sight. We walked around and picked up it's tracks, but could find no blood. We walked around a little more and found some fuzzy hair! We started following the tracks and then would see a spot of blood from time to time. After tracking it about 300 yards, my son found it dead! Right next to the dead Yote was a coyote fetus. It looked like the Yote had aborted it, as the wound was low, right behind the front legs. The fetus was about 3-1/2" long, so it was several weeks along.

Great day though! It rained most of the day, but when it quit, we had enough time for two stands, and got one!

Mike,
It turns out that coyote was a MALE! MJM was kind enough to skin the dog out for me, in the rain (thanks MJM!) and there was no doubt that it was a male. In our excitement we assumed incorrectly. That was most likely his lunch we found...odd as it was.
Regarding the hunt itself, it was a real special treat to get to hunt with Mike & Marshall Milli. Mike is a class act & his son is following right in pop's footsteps. I was honored to share a stand with them. Getting a dog down together made for a lifetime memory. This is what the Globe hunt is all about right there!!!

I guess there were just too many DTECH ARs together on stand for that coyote to get past...

Arizona coyote #1 baby!!!

Fred:

That-a-way to Knock'em down! You are making me home sick for the PM hunt. I'll be there next year. I was fortunate to sit at DTech's table at the banquet last year. He is a super nice person and he makes one hell of a rifle! Great job Fred, Mike and Marshall!

Maybe that coyote was a hermaphrodite!
You shot the last one known to man. Better go back and get the carcas. Could be worth something.

Nice to see you having a good time and meeting/hunting with some fine folks.

Keep the reports and pics coming.

Gee, good thing MJM was there to show you where to look for the nutsack.

The fetus was a "meal"? Obtained how I wonder? Was it still in the embryonic sac? Expect to find more pregnant females. It's not unusual for coyotes to breed/conceive earlier in the year in latitudes lower than 32.78N.

Good question, Nasa.
To be honest, I was SO excited to have had a successful hunt with the DTECH duo that an infield forensic exam was not high on the priorities list at the time. In the excitement we just assumed the above. If another yote should happen to take a dirt nap tomorrow, I'll be sure to make note of it's gender for ya!

Back on topic:
Took Dtech jr out again this morning & we got back-doored on the first stand. Second stand w/Onefoot we had them howling but nobody showed.
Third stand was for cats. Just me & Onefoot went out after the Egg Shoot. Another yote came barging in within the first 2 minutes but Onefoot didn't get a shot off before he got around & down in the wash. Stayed with the calling for kitty but that was it for the day...

Well here's wishing you dry roads and many stands. I've done the Rez in wet weather, so I know what conditions are like for you guys. Getting anything to respond in that mud pudding is an accomplishment! Pile one up for me before you go.

Larry (Genesis) and I got home this afternoon and I figured I'd post some pics of our excellent adventure. We had a great time meeting members we hadn't yet, and seeing the ones we had met before again. If you can ever find a way to make it to one of these get togethers you'll find it well worth the time and effort. Great people (staff and members), and just an all around great time.

The weather kind of messed things up this year. Friday was lousy all day and not many were brave enough to get out in it. We've been getting a good amount of rain recently and the already soaked ground combined with another all day drenching makes most areas almost impossible to access. Even if you can get off the main roads, your boots will weigh 10 pounds each after about 50 yards. Slick, sticky stuff and plenty of it.

I'd like to personally thank the sponsors and PM staff for their generosity and efforts to pull off another great event.

Anyway, didn't I say something about pictures....

Saturday Larry and I ran up to the high country in hopes of cutting some fresh lion tracks. No luck on the tracks but we had quite a ride. We forgot the spare tire in the trailer and just as we pulled up to the egg shoot, the valve stem on the left rear gave up. WHEW!!! If it had happened a little earlier they'd probably still be looking for us. We were real fortunate. We had to use the winch 3 or 4 times to clear the road. This Ford and the guy who drives it are a pair of bada$$es!!

This is Point of Pines Lake.

Here is Larry on the range during the egg shoot.

And here he is at the banquet accepting his 2nd place trophy from Randy Black (RanUtah).

Larry, Dan Carey, and Ken (Dogboy) sitting around the trailer discussing current events among other things last night after the banquet.

And a couple of pics of the coyote we shot Thursday. She was a lot prettier than the desert dogs I usually shoot and Michael McCasland was kind enough to skin her for me (the guy is always prepared). I'm going to get this one tanned I think. Thanks MJM!!

Larry's not really mean, he just looks that way in pictures.
