I'll most likely register before the shoot also...so long as it doesn't present a logistical problem for the powers that be.

May I ask some questions out of curiosity?

Do shooters bringing along a designated "Egg rifle"? Or does everybody use the gun that they actually hunt the Res with for scrambling?

Some brought there hunting gun, others brought particular gun to shoot.

If I shoot, it will be my D-tech AR that I hunted with last year, and that I plan to hunt with this year.

I think it was about 50/50 last year between ARs and bolt guns.

Several were shooting 22-250 bolt guns last year, and several had .223 AR-15's. MJM won using a bolt gun in .223 AI.

RagnCajn was shooting a Ruger bolt-action in .17 Rem. I think the wind last year really drifted that .17 cal bullet.

I don't remember any .204's last year, but I bet there is at least one this year.

This is what you can expect, or something very similar.

This is MJM with his winning .223 AI.

It was colder than a well-diggers butt last year. So come prepared for anything.

See the "egg shoot and banquet" thread below to see what you can expect. You can also check out the 2007 hunt subforum to see hunt picutures and pictures from the other events.

Thanks Yellow...
I'll probably wing it with my Dtech as well.

Been reading & re-reading every thread from every year in preparation for Feb. 13th.

It can't come soon enough!!!

Here is some thought and insight you might want to consider. Large caliber and take out the target stand.

Ya'll are really missing out if you don't shoot. What is the least that can happen, Lose your entry fee? After the shoot, the non winners will go in a drawing to recieve the donated shooting sticks. I plan to have a target board there so each participant will get to shoot a sighter prior to his chance at the egg.

I haven't signed up but since it turned out so well last year, I'm goin' to shoot. I've still got 80 or so rounds ready for the 223AI. I might as well shoot'em up.
