The Ultimate Deer Cartridge

This is kinda like talking about the perfect set of (.)(.) Everybody has their own idea of perfect. I shot a .280rem for years and love it. Got a 300WSM last year and shot 6 deer last season, the first was about 200yds and cut both lungs and he ran about 75yds. The other 5 fell down after the shot and that was it. Using 150gr ballistic silvertips.

Going shooting Friday, have an elk hunt this fall and was told to use the 180gr failsafes over the 150BT by the outfitter. Don't reload so thats my options.

That being said I feel the best whitetail rifle for where I hunt, W Texas wide open and Arkansas pipelines would be the 257 Weatherby. I don't reload so I won't go into wildcat stuff as I don't know anything about it.
