Saturday was all Me and Yellowhammer. We headed back to the same place I went with Judd Cooneyon Thursday. Our first stand was about 400 yrds from where I made the first stand with Judd and the fellas. Things went a little different this time. As before, coyotes were howling all around. I spotted a coyote slippingof the ridge across the valley (I would put money on this being the same coyte I saw thursday, same locatin and behavior). It dropped into the bottom and some brush. I lost it for a few minutes and then picked it up a few yards closer looking up the hill for what ever was making the noise. I decided to try my luck and sent a 68 gr bullet on it's way from my AR. I hit center of the back exiting in theiddle of ther belly. it moved a little and yellowhammer felt left out so he fired a round and finished it off. 150+ yrds and 7 minutes into the stand.

Second stand was down the road and on the other side. Sittigon a steep hill an calling a large wash. I caught movement to my right and saw a coyote coming hard. I positioned my self, and as it neard, i lip squeeked to try and stop it. That didn't work so I gave a little bark. The coyote decided to exit stage right and dropped off the edge of the hill only to reapear on another hill side aprox 225 yrda away. It stopped broad side and I let the Ar rip. The coyote dropped where it was standing. Right through the front shoulder. Im really liking these 68 gr bullets although the holes were rather large. Thats ok though, I wait till they prime up before I leave em lay.

More to come.

We made a few more stands and then headed back to the motel for some eats. After lunch we picked up Nikonut and headed out for a few more stands. We gt back doored by a fox on the first stand and called in a coyote that we lost sight of at 400 yrds never to see again. Nikonut , It was a blast haing you along. Sorry you didn't have the chance to fling a stick at a coyote.

That evenming, we headed to the pavilion for some talking and instruction. Byron South talked for a while, Michael McCasland demonstarated the use of a ladder for calling, and Al Morris demonstrated the new Mac Daddy Howler from HS. And then we headed back to Redfrogs room after they threw us out of the pavilion.

You forgot to mention that the fence post was holding me up in that one picture after I did my impression of a mountain goat climb down the canyon, get you coyote and drag it back up the canyon for the hero shots.

Lance is deadly with that AR, and was true to his other nick name "dog hog"

He shoots, and I drag 'em.

If Lance and I lived closer, we would probably both be divorced for hunting so much and leaving our wives at home.

I look forward to hunting with you again Lance. Tom, it was great to hunt with you as well.
