Best Time?

What I want to know is when is the best time for spotlighting? I go out at night about 8 or so till 11 or 12 all I see are jacks and skunks. Is it better to go before dawn or later at night? Thanks.
 
Texas Hunter..I hunt from dusk, 'til 3,4, or 5 am. Sometimes we see the sun come up. If we are in a contest, we always hunt all night. It seems that there is always a slow time(couple of hours) during the night when they are not moving. Early in the evening(the times you are hunting) really seem to produce well on a regular basis, maybe because they are eager to get out as soon as it gets dark. See ya'...Randy
