The following is the 2006-2007 Predator Hunt Schedule. The information is solid at this time. There might be a few changes in minor details like speakers and events for Friday and Saturday night so it would be good to check in from time to time. Over the years we have tried to bring something new and interesting to each hunt. This year the hunt is shaping up to be something truly special, new events, new sponsors’, new speakers.
I will be keeping a list here of the members that have completed the registration process in this thread.

Predator Masters Globe hunt schedule:

When:
February 1, 2, 3 & 4, 2007

Where:
The hunt will be held in Globe Arizona. Our meeting place will be at the Apache Gold Casino. The casino has meeting places and rooms available at very reasonable rates. For reservations the phone number is 1-800-APACHE8. If you are planning on staying at the casino and plan to hunt on the reservation be sure to ask for the hunter rate, this will save you quite a bit of money. To get the hunter rate at the Casino motel you will need to have a reservation hunting license before you check in at the motel.

Registration:
There is a registration fee of $25.00 to participate in this hunt, a registration fee is necessary to cover the costs associated with the hunt.

Pre-registration if you are planning to attend the hunt - ($25.00, before January 23, 2007) will include an identification name badge, 3 door prize tickets and a meal at the Sunday Banquet. There will be a drawing for a gillie suit for those that register BEFORE January 1, 2007 (the very nature of this drawing makes it a no attendance required drawing). (Note: The Early bird drawing is finished and the winner is Savage270NM, thank you for your participation) For the on line registration form click on the following link:
NOTE: I am extending the deadline until January 25, 2007. The oppertunity for guys NOT attending the hunt to register and purchase door prize tickets will end on January 25. If you are planning to attend the hunt you will be guarenteed to be able to register at the Egg shoot (Thusrday morning), Thursday night(at the Casino) and Sunday at the banquet. There should be plenty of oppertunities to register while at Globe. Unfortunately I will not have official name badges available to those registering at he hunt.

Registration if you are NOT planning to attend the hunt – This is a special opportunity. If you would like to purchase Door Prize tickets, but not attend the hunt, you are also required to register, but at a reduced fee of $10.00. You will receive 3 raffle tickets. General Hunting License Information:
Out of state licenses can be purchased in several locations but the easiest place will probably be at the local Wal-mart. Most licenses to hunt the San Carlos Indian reservation are available at the service station at the casino entrance, local Circle K’s and other gas/food mart type places. The major exception is for Mountain Lion Tags and Permits, See Below.

Non-resident Arizona state license:
1 year general hunting license good for small game and predators (Fox, badger, bobcat, coyote) will cost $151.25.
3 day licenses can be had for $61.25. Arizona state license information is available at:

San Carlos Indian Reservation licenses - these prices apply to all non-native people, NO Arizona State Hunting license is required to hunt on the San Carlos Indian Reservation:
A yearly San Carlos Habitat Stamp conservation stamp is required for all licenses - $5.00
Predators - $10.00 a day (Bobcat, fox, coyote)
Small Game - $10.00 a day (quail, rabbits, squirrels)
Mountain Lion permits and tags – – Lion tags can only be purchased at the San Carlos Recreation office, located on hwy 70 about 25 miles east of the casino, at Peridot.
A permit good for a 3 lions year is required- $25.00
A tag good for one day is required - $10.00 a day

Door Prize Drawings and Auctions:
There will be several opportunities to participate in door prize drawings and auctions during the hunt.
- There will be an Early bird drawing for those that register before January 1, 2007. No tickets necessary. Obviously you do not need to be present to win the early bird drawing
- There will be a door prize drawing on the first night of the hunt, Thursday February 1, 2007. You will need to be present to win the Thursday night drawing.
- At the Sunday February 4, 2007 banquet there will be several drawings and auctions for various items. You do not need to be present to win the Sunday drawing. I don't know how you'd be able to not be present for the auctions, but if you can find a way to bid and pay, you don't need to be present for the auctions.

Door Prize Tickets:
Door Prize Tickets are available in several ways.
1 - Each person to register for the hunt will automatically receive 3 door prize tickets
2 - Door prize tickets will be available on line for $2.00 each, see the registration link
3 - Door prize tickets will be sold for $2.00 each on the first night of the hunt at the casino (Thursday 1, 2007, 7:00pm,) and they will be sold at the banquet (Sunday 4, 2007, 12:00pm)

The hunt schedule:
Thursday February 1, 2007 – Licenses and tags need to be purchased. Please refer to the license information above.
Predator Masters Egg Shoot - The shoot begins at 11:00am and will continue until it's over. The shoot will be held just north of hwy 70, and just west of Bylas, AZ.

Only those registered for the PM hunt will be eligible to compete, and you will need to already have your reservation hunting license too (we will be shooting on the reservation). You can register online or late registration will be available just before the shoot.

The entry fee is $40, and includes 3 shots per stage. Up to 3 additional shots per stage can be purchased at $20 per shot.

Official hunt registration - Registration and check in will be at the Casino starting at 7:00pm. Please see the registration information above.

Friday February 2, 2007 - This will be the first day of hunting. There is very little scheduled for Friday. Friday night Redfrog will have his room open to the public. The San Carlos Indian reservation has a very nice rodeo grounds (the Pavilion) adjacent to the casino/hotel, This facility may be open, but it is not definite at this time.

Saturday February 3, 2007 - Arrangements have been made for us to use “the Pavilion”. “The Pavilion” is located next to the Apache Gold Casino. It is a semi open air facility where we will likely have a skinning demonstration. I’d like this to be a place where we gather, talk and have a good time without worrying about bothering the guests at the casino. As an added attraction, “the Pavilion bar” will be open for us to use.

Sunday February 4, 2007 - The morning will be open for those that want to hunt for ½ a day.
12:00pm – the banquet will start.
After introductions Mike Dillon from Fox-pro will speak. Mike would like this to be a question and answer style presentation, if you have any questions about electronic calls Mike is a great source of information on all things (callers) electronic.
1:30pm – the meal will be served
Mike Milli of D-tech (they build great custom rifles on the AR-15 platform) will not only speak, he will build a complete AR-15 while he speaks, then the rifle will be auctioned off online for Predator Masters.
The rest of the afternoon will be filled with various speakers, door prize drawings and auctions for special calls and products.
3:30 – 4:00pm we will gather for a group photo. This will bring an end of the official part of the 2006-2007 Globe Hunt activities.

Arizona increased the Hunting fees for 2007.

A yearly General Hunting License: Resident = 32.25 Non-resident $151.25

A non-resident 3 day General License = $61.25

These new fees are now reflected in the hunt schedule.

Dumb question. Do you need to purchase the non-resident licese, and then the lisence for the rez?

No. It all depends on where you want to hunt. The state of Arizona and the San Carlos Indian Reservation are seperate jurisdictions. If you want to hunt the reserevation all you need is the Licences/permits that they require for the spicies you want to hunt from the San Carlos nation. If you want to hunt off the reservation, on state land or national forest, you are required to buy a hunting license from the state of Arizona. If you hunt both, you would need to buy licsenses from both.

I'm thinking about trucking down to the hunt from Colorado! I'm new to the hunt...are there prizes for heaviest animal and stuff at check-in???

Camoking6 - Since this is not a competition hunt we have stayed away from the sort of thing you are asking about. Over the years there has been a counsiious decission on our part to keep the hunt a friendly get together of predator hunters. I like to see the guys gathering and sharing their days expereinces without the pressure of cmpetition. The hunt can be thought of as yet another Board expereince .... but a face to face interaction rather than a written one.

But there will be prizes galore! Just for showing up. Even if you don't shoot the biggest, smallest, most, heaviest, etc. This is a 3-day get together, with fun and games, and a little predator hunting thrown in to boot! In fact, if you don't want to hunt, there's a big bass lake right there. And don't forget your camera. You really don't want to miss out on this annual event.

Thanks guys. I'm actually glad to hear that! I find hunting the hunters without competition and prizes to be more sporting...seems more respectful somehow. I'm really going to try to make it!

Here's another goody for those of you that like rodeo events. The casino is hosting a barrel race on Friday night at the pavilion right next to the Casino/Motel/Confrence center.

Here's anothe thing to make note of:
I know that people including their wives love to visit Cabelas stores. A brand new Cabelas opened this fall in Phoenix, it might be worth a visit, especially if you are flying into Phoenix International Airport.

We'll need to push a couple of tables together for the Colorado contingency. It looks like the Centennial State is going to have a pretty good showing this time. I'll bring a flag to stake out a territory for us.
