Thanks for the responses guys. Again I didn't mean to be argumentative. I agree in self moderation. I just have found out far to often in my work and personal life that when you come down on someone for thier actions (ie deleting pictures) when there are not clear well defined rules, it usually turns into a personal battle.
Case in point.... "The best shot in 2 days of shooting in SD ( GRAPHIC ) be warned"
(I really like the picture myself, even inquired about the techniques and tools used to take it, so sorry OneInTheBoiler for pulling you into this. I hope to one day have the opportunity to meet you and learn a few things from you about photography and shooting, both of which you apparently do very well.)
Should this have been deleted? Its been up for a couple of days now. Is it graphic? Excessive gore? I would think so, but that's part of why I like it so much and applaud it's artistic and technical talent. Obviously OneInTheBoiler put in an extreme amount of time and work to capture the image. I fear, however, that when someone else's picture is deleted because it is judged to be offensive, WE as a community (I include myself because I DO support what the Administrators and Moderators are trying to do) will have little ground to stand on. WE will have no response to the comments that WE allowed this picture and not the other because WE favor one individual and not the other. I know set in stone rules are difficult, but so is trying to put out a firestorm of namecalling and accusations.
