Greetings:
We have had this brought up several times in the past and would like to clear it up one last time. It is not the policy of this board to have graphic photo's posted here in any form. In the future,if someone feels the need to show or see graphic photo's in any form, e-mail them to those requesting. Do not post them on the board.

Your help in this matter will be much appreciated.

question, is posting a link to photos of this nature ok without directly imbedding it in your post?

example: http://www.mywebsite/dead-prairie-dog.jpg

instead of: (img)http://www.mywebsite/dead-prairie-dog.jpg(/img)

Fly, we would prefer not to have any links posted on the board to this. Prefer to have interested parties just e-mail or if you have them on your website like mentioned. Send interested parties there by some other means other than a post here. Thanks for the question and co-op in the posts.

I don't see a problem with posting a link? If a person is uninterested, and dosen't care to see such things.. They probably won't click the link anyway.

It seems that political correctness is taking over here... This is how the anti's want us to be...submissive and under their liberal control.

Ohhhh I like it (NOT) when we get all testy about long standing policy. Form its very earliest days Predator Masters (actually before PM even existed these standards were set on the boards PM came from,) set it's policy on truly graphic pictures. The posting links policy isn't quite as old, but darned near it.

The arguements get a little old though ,, Political correctness ... We are a bunch of sissy boys ... this is a hunting board we've all seen blood ... Liberal skum ... And the ever popular variations on, We are manly men and we should be able to wallow in all the blood and gore we can stand!

The fact of the matter is Predator Masters have had these rules or standards of conduct in place for a very long time, whine all you'd like to, we are not going to change any time soon.

Don't read into it Michael, just stating it as I see it. Maybe if clarification can be made and the folks advised accordingly, it would help to know what can and can't be posted.

I personally don't see anything wrong with posting pictures of a fallen animal, I do agree we don't need gore and guts shots, but it seems to get more and more restrictive as time goes by.

Interpretation is a big part of what one person may or may not believe is out of line, that's why the moderators here should set a standard, and then enforce it. If the moderators agree that a photo is in poor taste, then they should have the authority to remove it...and they should do so. If there is a problem with these kinds of pictures then we should fix the problem, and that is my idea or solution to do so. For what it's worth...

I'm not attempting to "stir the pot" here, I am offering my opinion as a solution to what is evidently causing some folks to be uncomfortable with what they are viewing.

Seems kinda of ironic that a forum whose existence is based on a group of people who like to hunt and shoot....that one of the long standing rules forbids the posting of the result. I don't post graphic pictures...its just not my thing. Just never dawned on me this was an issue.

Why is that ironic??? I'm an avid hunter and the main reason I hunt with a .17 rem is to avoid all the gore and guts in my kills. I don't enjoy it in person and I don't enjoy opening a thread not knowing there are pics there and having to see it.

To start I am not trying to argue with anyone....just need clarification.

From this thread
**It is not the policy of this board to have graphic photo's posted here in any form.

From the photos Section - Rules Regarding Gore Shots
**Please understand that photos with excessive gore will be deleted.

From TOS
3. You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this BB to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law.

So I guess what we (I) need is a clear definition of what "graphic" or "excessive gore" is. I'm sure it means many things to many people, but what does it mean to THIS FORUM. I joined up just this last January and have had the chance to meet and learn many things from the people here, and would not like to get myself in trouble by posting the wrong thing. Please be specific, some of us need that.

We are a family website. We are a hunting website. We try to accommodate all those who visit here. This topic isn't new, and I don't think it will end here. PM doesn't have a problem with posting pictures. It's the ones that show an animal turned inside out that are offensive to some, and others don't want their kids viewing it. Also, political correctness does not apply to this website as it is a private one-meaning we can allow what we want.

Steve is asking you to use your judgement. We have not been enforcing the rules in regards to graphic pictures in this forum for a while now. It's our fault that we have let it get this far before saying something-I apologize.

If the picture is questionable, we will delete it. But we would hope you would respect what we ask of you. This forum is for all members, and we try to accommodate everyone.

I think the mod's here are doing a good thing. There is enough crazy filth on the net these days, its nice to know there is a place that you can let your kids hang out on, and not worry about what they might see. A 6 year old boy might get upset if he sees some of these pics on here, True, most of us have no issue with it, but i am the only one to judge what my kids can and cant do and see(even though they arent old enough yet), and i think most of you feel the same. I commend the staff for taking an admirable position on this. This is someplace that kids can not only learn, but be shielded from somethings that not every parent wants them to see. I dont think it is asking to much to simply say if you want to see the graphic pics, email em.

However, its a good point that there are different standards each of us have, but i dont think its possible to set rules in stone, as those can vary by each situation.

Oh well, just something else to keep these mods up at night busy checkin on posts!

A quote I borrowed pertains quite well here.
Quote:

He said something like this, "I don't know what the definition of pornography is, but I know it when I see it."

I think that rule applies here. If you think that it is graphic enough that it needs a "disclaimer" or warning, then it is too graphic to post. In my opinion at least.

Just use some common sence. Blood is expected in a sport like ours. But if the insides are on the out side, or large gaping holes you could stick a soft ball through, or eyes dangling out of the sockets from a head shot, then it probably doesn't need to be posted. If we think you are over the line, the pic will be deleted. That doesn't mean you will be shown the door. If you find your pics are being deleted on a regular basis, then im sure you will be contacted by the mods here before you are reprimanded.

Edited so not to be too reduntant.

That's scary, since I was typing almost the exact same post while you were posting.
