Sorry if I am out of place here, but I am intersted and I am surely not alone so.....Post your number of kills and breed of critter. I will start with; Dogn - 3 coyotes and 1 bobcat. Dogpounder - 1 coyote. We can tally this up in a week or so and see how much we helped in controlling the predator population. Thanks, Dogn

Tues, Wed, Thurs, saw 5, killed 0. On Friday I called in 3, shot 1. Saturday called 2, shot 1. It could have been 2, but someone drove up and stopped just as the coyote was comming out from behind the brush. The truck sliding on the gravel spooked him. Oh well.

Uncle Merv and I spent pretty much the whole hunt up on the high ground. But deja vu just wasn't happening for us in regards to a lion.We did have a wolf close to our camp at bobcat tank along with hundreds of turkeys .The country that Lynn tagged his lion in looks pretty much like the areas we were hunting.Hunting with my Uncle Merv was priceless to me.I just wish I could have gotten him a shot at a lion but it just wasn't happening. Uncle merv and Daveyboy struck out but had a great time .take care, daveyboy P.s.Lynn I was a little green with envy when you nailed that lion, but brother I think I was probably one of the happiest for you of all the people at the hunt .Congratulations again on a job well done .

Called in five dogs, Two gray foxes, nine+ Javelina, four archery Javelina hunters, three quail hunters and stumbled over untold number of hunting camps. January is a busy place here in AZ. with all the different hunts that are going at once. Great time was had by all. Took two coyotes & one gray fox and my hunting partner Gary Sample took one gray fox. Missed two coyotes and one got a free pass as it didn't offer a good shot.

In addition to what Lance mentioned earlier, I went out Saturday by myself and made 4 stands. Called a double (coyotes) on the first stand and killed one. The other three were dry stands. Got bored and went back to the room. Put my coyote (great pelt) under my trailer so it would not bloat up in a hot suburban and went to practice my program. Came back out two hours later and the coyote was gone. I found out later that some lady had reported a dead coyote in the parking lot and maintenance removed it.

Shameless and I had a great time, we called in 11 coyotes during our stay, we killed 4. We also had two we spotted while walking to a stand and had a hayday at the (for us) longer range shooting, We of course missed the running yotes but had a fantastic time.

Wed- 1 coyote called, 1 killed
Thur and Fri- Waaay to much time looking for lion sign and not enough time making stands. Nada
Sat- 1 coyote called 1 killed, quit early when caller went south a few minutes into the third stand, and I found I'd left my hand calls in the motel (big lesson learned).

I called in 7 coyotes, shot 3 and recovered 2. Also called in 3 fox (within inches), but...no kills on them.
I'll post pics when I get a chance.

I only fired two shots, those were at the fox Tebbe's talking about...doubt I hit it. He was doing a zag zag B-line for the second shot.
I did manage to kill a LOT bottles a few nights at the bar with Lynn and his brother, Brent, JD, Mike Paul, and those are just the faces I could make out.
We SAW-
A dang fine bartender ..in fact one in the group went back to the same spot a few times in attempt to call er in each time. I never seen so many people on one stand in my life. But who could blame em? Ohhhh her silky coat just shined.
She got pretty close, but hung up a few yards out every time. I think she'd been called before and was a lil call shy.
No camera's in the casino or I'd have some nice footage of that stand.
6 or 8 Javalina
1 nice Mulee
3 coyotes
1 bobcat
2 grey fox
no kills

My first hunt calling at Globe was on Friday morning. 1st. stand, called in 4 coyotes the area was so thick I could only see heads and ears moving around. Did not take down 1 coyote. 2nd stand called in nothing but air. 3rd. stand pulled a 30minute stand and when I broke the stand I got up and turned around and what do I see a Bobcat looking at me then taking off like a bat out of hell. 4th stand another thick area called in 2 coyotes, and did not get a shot off. 5th stand called air again. 6th stand called in 1 songdog, he stood out about 400 yards no shot taken. last stand of the day called in another songdog and took the shot, well I hit dirt. The only thing I kept saying was I wish I had my chair and I wish I could have hunted out of the back of my truck on my chair, I would have taken down them dogs, and would have seen the bobcat sneek up on me. Sat. hunted all day only called in 1 songdog that was it. I seen a lot of deer on this day a pack of pigs a few other hunters. Sun I did not do any hunting, just kick back and enjoyed seeing everybody at the party.

Dogn,
Its been three weeks, all of the kills should be posted by now.
My count is:
Lion 1
Fox 3
Coyotes 30
Bobcat 3
In my opinion this a very low number, considering the number of hunters and the days hunting, not because of hunter skills, but a combination of dry conditions, windy, and unusually warm weather.
In spite of the hunting conditions I had a great time.
Jerry

Red Dot - you caught me sleeping! The numbers you posted above look right to me. I was thinking along the same lines as you. It does seem that the numbers are a bit low for the talent that was in the field. The wind may have had a part in the low numbers as it did gust fairly hard on Saturday. I could go on this hunt and not shoot a thing and still have a great time. I simply love being out and about with great people. Dogn

The first couple of years I came to these hunts,I came and hunted with the same person (usually a friend or hunting partner from home). The last couple of years I have decided to make it a point to hunt with people that I would likely other wise not have the opportunity to. Step a little out side your comfort zone and you will find your self making memories and friend that you never would have thought possible. I would like to see more of a nightly gathering where we all can get aquainted with each other better and tell the stories (or lies) of the days adventure.

Hey CrapShoots,
I know we talked about getting all interested parties together in the evenings in the parking lot for stories and lies and the “Parking Lot Rangers” shut us down the first night. I am wondering if we could talk them into letting us use the big barn, just to the west of the front parking lot, for our evening meetings? Inside, out of sight, drive right in, pop the top, down the suds, skin the cats and dogs and all out of sight! If not, do they have any other outside ramadas that we could all meet at to skin the days take and down the suds? How about at the golf park? That was just a short walk from the parking lot?
Just looking for options. Maybe if the PM Staff were to complain about this hotel short sightedness to the hotel management now it would give them something to work on and have in place for next year?
I agree with you on the hunt. I think hunting with different people and getting to know them is one of the outstanding aspects of this get together. Every one of you PM Staff Members did a superb job and deserve a lot more than you get! I Thank You All!!

I think were going to try to talk them into setting us up with a place like you mentioned Cactus~. Someone from the casino did say prior they could arrange it...but it never fell through. Ohhh man, who's gonna pick up the beer cans?

I agree 100% with you. I was hoping for a little more nightly interaction. I found myself engrossed in slot machines due to no Parking Lot get togethers.

you guys are talking about getting together at night i believe that is why the lbl hunt is becoming so sucessful. we meet together every night have a big fire spread out all the calls and other donations. sharing info, bragging and lying. wonderful opportunity to meet and hook up with other hunters for next day hunt. we discuss where we hunted that day and our results i dont think anyone is holding back much info as there are no prizes just pride. jimmie holds court nightly to share past experiences with maps these maps are updated every year and daily at the hunt. a very cooperative atmosphere to improve our chances. we killed more coyotes this year than ever. if brent didnt have so many responsibities and truck problems we would have had even more killed. in other words "no distractions". wayne p
