1st stand I walked out and set the call. When I got back to my rifle my buddy said that there was a fox standing just past the call. There was a slight dip in the field and I did not see it when I walked out and I guess she did not see me. Maybe she heard me walking and popped up for a look, I don't know. We counted down and killed her right there, no calling. Female.
Next stand we went after a fox that got away from me on the last full moon a month ago. She came straight in within a minute or 2 to Eastern Cottontail but got our wind and spooked off. I hit Platinum Grey and she came right back. We double tapped her at about 50 yds.
We spent the next 1 1/2 hours chasing a pack of coyotes but they would not come out. I've been after this pack off and on all season. We have killed 2 and the rest are pretty wary now. I hate to give up on them but they are definitely educated to a call now.
