I like what he has to say here...but he didn't go far enough when explaining some of his responses.
The second Amendment was written at the end of a terrible, bloody war. The men who wrote it feared a government that could destroy their lives...a government much like the one they had helped break away from. Should we ever need to use the second Amendment to take back our country, we will not be fighting our military. An order to the military by the President to suppress the citizens of America is an unlawful order and would not be followed. Sure, some Federal agencies would try and do the President's bidding but not the military. Ask a veteran. We need the second Amendment and we should enjoy the serendipitous benefits but it's there to guarantee our Constitution.
