Catching mt cartridges

Anyone have a way of doing this that would not be prone to jamming on a bolt rifle. I find about half mine because of vegetation and being hard to come by l would like to recover all.
 
Most all my bolt guns have plunger ejectors. I snip a couple coils off the springs. Brass still ejects but basically falls straight down.

But, my brass from my bolt guns rarely touches the ground. I've been in the habit of blocking the port and catching them in my left hand since I was 12 years old. Never think about it at all, it just happens.
